Being in BK allows the company to do nothing, (IE. purchase anything)however it doesn't stop Big D from doing something and with regards to when they (pinnacle) come out of BK, whether it be owned by D or on its own. This source said that Pinnacle has CRJ 1000's on order. Now the question lies how much will one work for just to fly the shiny new 1000.

This speculation is overly crazy (IMO.) You do know that a CRJ 1000 has to be purchased new. There are no used 1000's on the market! The sticker price is over $42 million, not to mention that the max number of seats according to Delta scope is 76 seats. I guess technically any regional could take delivery of the 1000's; but it would still have to operate under the 76 seat scope that exists today. That would technically mean roughly 60 coach passengers with 16 First Class! The CASM on an RJ purchased at let's say even half market value, $21 million, is crazy considering the 717's coming online are going to purchased for cheaper, and will hold about 80 coach with 16 in First Class!

Am I crazy using this logic or no?!

Attended the "Left Seat" conference this week... basically a symposium for senior Captains. Highly recommend this for all senior Cappies.

First, a great experience and chance to have a 2-way exchange of information with senior management. I learned a lot more about our company, especially about the many departments other than flt ops.

Second, from the horses mouth... if the 9's stay, we hire next year... if not, 2014. Also, unfortunately for me, coinciding with the arrival of the 100 900's over the next 3 yrs, is the departure of btw 60 - 70 757's. :(

I can't stop watching this.

Why were they filming themselves anyway?

I think the "Throttles - Idle" memory item was just too late to really help.

I feel the worst for green bikini girl - loses her shades, gets a 60mph face douche, then gets impaled by the throttle quadrant. :(

I hope attending the "Left Seat" conference is one, voluntary, two, we get paid for it, three, no test at the end.

Yes to all three.

Plus after being beaten down since BK, I have decided to re-engage on all levels (company & union). Tired of the non-stop beyatch fest / negativity party.

Was refreshing to chat with individuals at all levels (trenches to front office) who are truly passionate about this biz.

small correction on 717 to crj 1000, its about 90 coach not 80. That's about 30 coach diff.

i also would be ****ed if Delta bought $40 mil dollar new planes for a regional while we get used stuff on sale but it wouldn't shock me.

from what I hear, the 717 will be three class config. like dc9 with 107 seats total

Is this a 'new' program or what DL South has always done with new Capts?

It was called "In Command", but sounds exactly the same, with flt. ops. and other dept.s coming to 'splain the big picture. I heard all the NW Capts. were getting it now too, is that what it was?
