I don't for a minute think my advice changed their union, but is it arrogant to give an opinion that proves correct, even it is just on a web board?
Sharp elbows or not, you have to at least acknowledge reality.
"Prick" seems pretty harsh. You're being a little too hard on yourself. But it is somewhat arrogant to continue claiming your opinion was correct when it clearly wasn't.
They did NOT do what you said they should do. You told the AA pilots to cave. You told them 1113 rejection would be a disaster, a contractual death sentence.
Ex post facto your "advice" was proven 180 degrees wrong.
You can argue whether its substandard and not much better than earlier offers, but the fact is they have a new contract. 1113 was nothing but a speed bump.

Oh thanks again to all who helped with my training questions. Always one of the best places to find obscure info.
Mainline block hours are going up. That requires additional flight attendant and pilots. We were more overstaffed then the flight attendants and have the long term mil leave pilots coming back so they did not hire the 100 or so pilots they were considering this fall. The hiring will come. Why is that so hard for everyone to believe that the block hours are increasing?

You take a swing, and I swing back and vice versa. When has your opinion every been suppressed on here? Many times your "facts" that you spew are laced with as many untruths as you accuse others of throwing.

You aren't attacked by me because of your position- When you're right, I acknowledge it. It is because of your attitude.

Then dispute him with facts not innuendo!!!

FWIW, the new 8K is showing the same mainline hull increase myself and others pointed out that some have been arguing won't happen.

Here's to hiring and mainline jobs added!

They are REALLY touting the AM(provides 20% of DL's revenue), GOL (provides 20% of DL's traffic on our Brazil routes), and VA codeshares and system capacity neutrality.

They are sure running a well functioning business, no doubting that.

My relative category seniority for ATL M88B will be about the same as his in MEM 777B. Also have buds at SWA hired the same timeframe who have been capts for several years and a bud hired at Continental who just upgraded to 757 capt.
Just gets old hearing from Sailing et al how much better we are doing than everybody else when it sure doesn't feel that way and my W2 lags so far behind those of my contemporaries at other airlines. My whine and moan for the day.
Sailing would say:
Don't you think your "peers" at at USair, American, Ethiopian, Comair, Skybus, Legend, National, DHL, and Swaziland Air would be envious of you?

Why....well because most of our experience with the airline or at least my experience has been furlough for over half a decade, a merger that brought crews for 100 aircraft we promptly retired and continuous loss of seniority in original DAL bases. We have never seen good times or progression. I know I should be happy and all that but with only 60 mandatory retirements in 2013 I'm not seeing the rosy picture you paint.

However, I would like to see good times, I would like to progress and I would like to break out of the bottom 15% of of the seniority list. Yes I know I have only been employed with Delta for 12 years and should be grateful to have a job. I actually had a SLC rep tell me that within the last 6 months. I found it to be an interesting message.

I was 10 numbers away from holding a solid regular line every month on the 767 when it passed 5 years ago and projected to move up in category enough to cross the threshold. Age 65 knocked me back 17 numbers on the projection and back into reserve.

Granted a lot of things have happened since then as well, but that was the first blow of backsliding.
Holding a line on the 767 5 years ago as a new hire? Were you even 30?
