Before you get all high and mighty, you might want to consider that most of the guys on this forum would not have been hired by Delta when I was hired in 1988 because you weren't in the military. What does that mean? Times change, that's what it means. Before you start thinking that your poop smells like rose water you might want to think twice. I do think that you are wrong with the basis of your post, I believe that all Pinnacle pilots have to meet Delta's hiring standards; standards that management alone dictates.
I find it mildly amusing that the ex-RJ pilots spend so much time ranking on each other. Would you prefer that all these Pinnacle pilots get laid off? What kind of person would not grant a hand up to someone facing the poop sandwich that is coming down to that group? I do think that our profession needs is more pilots crapping on other pilots, that will be good for us. No, but if they want to flow to DAL they should meet our hiring requirements. It is hard enough as it is trying to raise our compensation now- all we need to do is get rid of the four year degree requirement to complete our transition from professionals to blue collar labor. Bingo. One can infer how badly ma DAL needs the Pinnacle group to vote "yes".............
It's no longer about brand/culture/tradition. It's now what is best for DAL at this exact point in time...... |

88 B717s plus 40 additional MD90's. That's still 44 more airframes worth of CA positions if we include every DC9 & 747-200 parked. Right?

86% voted. 85% In favor. Impressive stats for an RJ carrier in terms of participation.
I wish them well, but I'm pretty sure they just bought some oceanfront property in Arizona. |
Delta now plans to fire our management to streamline the airline. That's the ultimate goal here, they have us negotiating directly with DAL management without the overhead of regional management. We are soon to be Delta pilots owned by Delta, working under the 9E CBA with no associated management costs. 100% of all savings and earnings going to Delta. We will soon be way cheaper than any other regional, the others simply can't compete.

My secure content locker kept crashing, so according to the FAQ on DeltaNet I had to uninstall and reinstall the app. It's currently downloading 77 files...what a PITA. I prefer GoodReader.

Scoop How about if they applied to be janitors at the airports they fly out of? At some point, ALPA needs to define what the cost of doing business with pilots is. Or should I say they should have done that at some point. |
