What's the bet on capacity guidance for the year (not Q1)?

0 to -2% seems quite popular with analysts, year after year. I'm guessing they'll play that tune again.

That's what I'm concerned about. At what point does "cutting capacity" negatively effect the airline? There's a breakpoint somewhere.

Thanks Elvis, I just thought we were closer to the magic 10B.

Well, after "very likely hire after the TA is passed", I am highly skeptical as well.

Yep.. haha. When I checked the fuel leak we were getting about 100-120 drops a minute. While not published in our manuals, having flown the Airbus you probably know that it is limited to 60 drops a minute.

We ran the engine, that went down some. Mx said "you're not going anywhere" and called out the engine shop people.

They came out... "ok you're good to go!"

"aroo? Did you fix it?"

"Nah, it's within 60 drops a minute now."

Top notch mx care for a plane that didn't really have to be in position for another 18 hours!

Haha! Brilliant! I guess they "fixed the glitch"? :D

I heard no mention of capacity discipline in Richard's opening remarks. This is new.

Hope those boys at AK get busy and get some scope and code share protections in this contract, I dont wish what we are going through on anyone! Time to go beg for a ride to work just so I can enjoy short call!

First they came for the DFW flying,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't in DFW.

Then they came for the MCO flying,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't in MCO.

Then they said we don't belong in the training house,
and I didn't speak out because I didn't want to be in the training house.

Then they gave away the LAX flying to Alaska,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't in LAX.

Then they came for the MEM flying,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't in MEM.

Then they came for the CVG flying,
and nobody noticed.

Then they said we didn't belong in SEA,
and I didn't speak out because I didn't want to be in SEA.

Then they came for the SLC flying,
and I didn't speak out because they already took LAX and SEA and I don't want to be a hypocrite.

Then they all came to ATL,
and I finally got it.
:D

Bye-bye more 50 seaters.

Sink r8 01-22-2013 06:22 AM

Sounds like -2 to -4% capacity, I think, for the year. Domestic -1 to -3% and Int'l -3 to -5%, mostly due to TransAtlantic off peak reductions. I think this is for the year, but Bastian was just talking Q1 2013. Anyone else hear the same?
