One of my favorite things about DAL is when crews wind up meeting at a local watering hole during a layover. I love boozing and listening to guys' various stories. Can't wait to do it again.

I did some looking at the AE, adding up the various category gains/losses. There were a couple humorous ones there... did anyone else see the guy who bid and got ATL717A last time, but obviously got cold feet and has now bid ATL88A? Man I laughed on that... I bet there is a story there too! Like, did he get trained and is now sitting on paid vacation, and is trying to milk some more vacation?
....... ok that was too interesting to leave unknown. Did some research. No, on the Mar AE, this fellow, call him "Phineas", was an ATL777B and was MD'd to ATL717A. He was 'sposed to train in Aug and convert in Sep. Well, good on him for working his options I guess! SLC73NB and LAX73NB swapped about 9 guys-- all senior LAX guys taking a V to SLC, forcing SLC guys out of base and over to LAX. Another funny one, there was one DTW73NF/o (displaced off the DTW320F/O last time) who got displaced AGAIN to the ATL717F/O. Feeling sorry for that guy, I hope he lubed... It looks like the plan for NCY7erB >> NYCM88A worked pretty good, about 16 guys went for it. However, for the OTHER 91 displacements, there was a heinous bloody thrashing like a school of mako sharks on a wounded seal. |

Oh, and I WAS able to find something to be pro-company about: kudos on Delta for getting the AE out so quickly! And the Jul bid awards for that matter. Much faster turnaround these days, well done.

Thanks GJ! I'm a Herk guy. We've been getting "DIRTY" at FOB Salerno and a couple of other dirt LZ's. Hitting dirt LZ's is an absolute blast!!! There is nothing stable about these approaches...:D
Again, safe travels for everyone. GJ |
