I'm really hoping you guys don't start running with the whole "female no TPIC" crap. Every female pilot I know of here at Delta was either a Captain or aircraft Commander in their former lives. I have heard of PEOPLE, male and female, getting the interview with no TPIC. While it boggles the mind that Delta would even consider such candidates, it is Delta's decision to do so. Delta does NOT hire on a quota of any kind, so please let's stay away from the female bashing. However, I also hope Delta refrains from further handicapping future female hires by not interviewing/ hiring anyone with less than the COMPETITIVE qualifications. There are hundreds of females in the military and at the regionals with thousands of hours of TPIC, please choose amongst them!

Let's see, he said the tests were the same. I'm just curious, what was the most challenging part of the cog test for him. Is that unreasonable to ask? My impression is that the cog test was one of the top two disqualifies for those seeking employment. Mustache says the tests were the same....same personality test, same tech questions, same cog test, same interview, same psych eval, same requirements (4 year degree). Should I have instead say why do we even bother with an interview? As long as you have the minimum qualifications, welcome aboard. What's your beef with this question, GJ?
I interpreted your post to be questioning him on whether they even took the same cog test. (e.g. "What was the most difficult part for you, because I don't believe you too the same test?)
If I interpreted your post incorrectly, my bad!

No bad on your part; you interpreted it correctly. Why did you feel a need to comment on your interpretation? I thought the claim of having had the same interview was worthy of some further questioning as to whether or not it was truly the "same" interview. That shouldn't be such an egregious question.

I'm on the Delta Air Lines seniority list.
A certain amount of Compass/XJ/9E pilots will be on the Delta Air Lines seniority list soon. (Based on previous agreements arranged by our/their airline management.)
Do I think your question of whether their test was the exact same test you took is egregious? No. I think it lacks a little class, because at this point, what's done is done, & I'm looking forward to not being considered a new-hire anymore.

I'm sure you meant "meet the competitive minimums." No one gets hired at the actual DL minimums. 4000 hours was the lowest any civilian got called with last round- TPIC was highly competitive but not 100% required (in my newhire class, we had a senior ASA FO who was also a DL FA at the same time). That will likely remain to be the low end threshold. Military of course have a separate scale of competitive times due to the nature of their career path.

My friend at her DL interview took near the whole time, I used her study technique and I finished the compass one in about 35 minutes. The HR person at the time said it was slightly easier than the one at mainline (I asked on day 1 of class), I'm not sure by how much. There were a two questions I looked at and had no idea, while my friend said there were 5 or so that she didn't know.
My comparison is by no means scientific.
The hardest part about the COG test? I give this advice to everyone...The test will frustrate you and overload you. It's putting your mess ups behind you and continuing to be as accurate as you can. You will screw up during it, but you have to block that out and continue on.
