Got a question about bidding...I just saw my Oct. schedule. I'm on reserve, and have the first 9 days of the month off. At this point, how would pay be calculated for October if I pick up an open time trip in September, which has carry over credit into October? Anybody?

There aren't any vacancies in LA either. What they do is place guys senior into known slots without displacing. Be careful what you wish for. It could be much worse....and let's not get into junior guys *****ing about senior FURL guys coming back. Please!

When I came after 4 1/2 years of furlough and a year of deferral....I was alarmed by the attitude of new hires in my brief indoc refresher class. Just know, please, these guys aren't taking your new hire slots...they're reclaiming they're previous guaranteed slots. Furlough is a *****. Acknowledge that, be cool, and carry on.

TSquare, I hope you told them that Delta will be hiring 1500 flight attendants starting in November. They would absolutely be a job fit. I am sure it would be a nice change for you. Maybe you could start recruiting at college football games?

I do like the way you think..... Can I wear the coonskin hat instead of the other one though? How 'bout a uniform change petition?

Buzz, I'm going to do something here...

And it's not directed towards your story. After all, if there are 160 guys on bypass from 01 coming back then there are 160 different stories as to why now instead of accepting the recall before.

But I know one story was "I don't want to fly the 88. I'll bypass until I know I won't get stuck on that plane."

That's fine, it's one's right and prerogative to do so if they wish, but, the thing is after 12 years guess what's waiting for most bypassers... the 88. Or more specifically, 52% on ATL 88B or the bottom 20% of the ATL 320B, bottom 12% of ATL 73NB and if it ever has an opening the bottom 10%ish of ATL ERB.

I don't think anyone thought from 2001 to 2013 this is all 12 years of seniority will buy you nowadays.

Didn't you know that women fall in love with a Delta pilot who wears his hat? I would sign a petition for "Friends don't let friends wear the RED 28"

On a side note I am working with the one of the owners of Manchester Arms about getting a free van service to and from the hotels/Delta HQ. I told him that there are plenty of pilots and flight attendants rotating through training that would love to go to Manchester Arms but do not want to walk on Virginia Ave at night. Hopefully we can something up and running soon.

Depends on whether it's a greenslip or not. Not 100 percent sure how a regular to reserve greenslip is paid but you would get at least pay above the guarantee for the portion into your off reserve days and your days off in the new month paid back. If it's a whiteslip the portion in the reserve month will go against your reserve guarantee (no extra pay). Be careful of a trip with a lot of trip credit. That's paid on the final day and would go against reserve guarantee.

I've had this happen before, but it's been awhile. I believe you will only be paid for the portion flown in SEP. The portion flown in OCT will be credited to your RAW and you will receive PB days for the days flown in OCT. I'm pretty sure you have to call CS to get the PB days though.

Agreed, and I hope this is not where this is going. What these guys are doing isn't a whim. They're exrecising their prerogative.

The issue is that they have to go somewhere, and some of the junior guys have mentally discounted the bypasses. Their mistake.

I'd add to Buzzpat's post that a guy junior to a furloughee has actually been borrowing that senior furloughed guy's spot for a while, just like I borrowed from guys on MLOA for a very long time. It's more of a matter of saying "thanks", than questioning why they're back.

I don't think there are payback days in his scenario.
