Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Does anyone know if they are planning on making the DTW 73 base any bigger over the next year?

If the company won't pay us while it makes record profits and, in fact, demands that we do more, where is our incentive to keep busting our humps? Where is the incentive to go "above and beyond" if we're not going to reap the financial benefits?

The guys white slipping may have already gotten a GS. Since you don't get GS #2 unless there is no one else in the category who even wants GS #1, perhaps the thinking is "I might as well get some hours via WS, since I won't be getting a GS (since I already got one)."
In fact back in our line of time bidding days, I flew with a very senior guy who would use a bidding technique (not available under the PBS system we have now) to start the month with zero hours. Then he would get two green slips (prior to C2K pilots got two GS in seniority order before a junior guy got even one). Then after that he would do nothing but WS easy one or two day trips to fill up the rest of the month. Remember that for a regular line holder a GS pays double ONLY if the rest of your month's flying equals the GS threshold, which ranges from 72-75 hours.

You are correct. They are counting on us more and more, so whatever the negotiators come up with, it better include more $.

I have never operated under our Reserve rules before this month (didn't want to either) but here I am.
Question- I picked up a GS tonight- one leg out, short overnight with a DH back to base tomorrow. What is the best tactic to delay DH ( actually on an earlier flight) to avoid a possible reroute? Thanks all

So yesterday in SLC they assigned NO pilots to SC even though they had at least 6 they could have assigned. Then today they covered 3 trips with GS's and 1 as a WS to a brilliant individual. So far they have assigned no SC's tomorrow and have the LC pilots to do so. I can't figure out what they are up to, but so far the last 2 days they just cover everything with GS's and haven't even worried about who they have on reserve.
Got one better, Had a GSWC in on Friday night in JFK that would have gotten me home a day earlier and it went instead to a reserve who put in a yellow slip.
I did put in a YS on reserve last month, but I was over guarantee by 1 hour and it got me enough block time that I wasn't good for anything on the 1st so I got new years off. I know there were a couple guys wondering WTH I was doing on that one.
Makes no sense in any scenario at all to YS at the front of the month though unless there is a trick I haven't figured out yet.
I don't get why people feel so entitled to GS's that they question every little move by others who are WSing or YSing. I can easily come up with numerous scenarios as to why it may be advantageous for said pilot to YS. Surely you can come up with a few and believe it or not, the Delta pilot world doesn't revolve around what suits you best.
