System wide the AE award resulted in 296 advances entitlements, 25 reinstatements and no displacements. That equals 321 pilots moving to categories they would rather be in and ZERO moving to categories they would rather not be in.

Unfilled positions included: ATL73NB (6), DTW73NB (2), NYC73NB (31), DTW320B (5), NYC320B (13), ATLM88B (22), NYCM88B (19) and ATL717B (8). These positions will be filled by new hires and posted on future bids. Next AE should be later this month That’s growth and it will continue as the mainline grows through C2012 scope recapture.

767 Driver,

I fail to see your point, I am well aware of the bid results because they tend to affect me and many like me negatively each and every time. I simply stated that many of us continue to see backwards movement even when 296 AE's are awarded. I admitted that I was mistakenly under the impression that during times of hiring, growth, captain awards and all of the good things you point out above I would not have expected to move backward on every single bid for 2 years and 2 months. My bad.

So the only question that remains is... do me an Roadkill continue to move backward indefinitely and ultimately get displaced off of a narrow body aircraft after 13 years with the company? If we use the last 11 AE's as a baseline then all indications say that we can expect exactly that. Especially when they displace all of the guys that just got ER awards.

With all of that said, these forums are a place for everybody to vent and banter. And this particular thread has provided lots of information and entertainment for many of us for many years. I tend to be pretty pessimistic on Delta because of my personal experiences over the last 13 years while others that are younger or have better careers are optimistic. But at this point the facts are... there is no official plan to hire more than 300 in 2013 and many continue to moves backwards rather than forwards with each and every bid despite all of the "great" things happening.

You know that would be way to easy for me not to have to commute. Plus, do you think I'm ready to go back to being a cool DC-9/717 driver.

Do I have to go to "superpilot" requal?

Speaking of Superpilot, where is he?

I think it is kind of cool to watch!! And with a pint of vodka in me.. well, I would be one happy and warm woman. In 10 below. ;) Oh and stupid drunk!!

The stress is on the broom dude!!

There are some really awesome multi-sport athletes that do curling. Some of them are tops at shuffleboard, bowling, beer drinking and bridge. "Hell of an athlete," a term frequently used to describe the broom dude...I especially love the Olympic human interest stories of curlers. Riveting stuff...

Agreed! I think we've seen the last displacements for a while. Guys junior in more senior categories will of course continue to experience some stagnation was senior guys bid into those positions as AEs open it up. Heck, ATL 330 B went to a guys that could hold ER captain.

Not complaining, but it would really be nice if they start replacing some of those guys that are retiring from the "super premium" positions. When's the last time we saw a 777 vacancy? That's what truly causes the venturi effect through the list.

If they aren't going to do it, Timbo, I will fake you out with the utmost of precision stepping off a curb. :D We can make those vacancies happen together!

I think their plan is coming into focus….. :D

Dude. Why is your dot hanging so low? Is that a medical condition? :D

Did you see the story about the Jewish hockey player who was skating for Germany?

Good stuff.

Hmmmm. 80, I think it's time to do to the A330 what Bar did to the 88.

Man, I sure tried. Remember all those pictures of mosquitos and separated tails!?

The 88's problem is that it is nearly exactly as bar describes.
Checklists that hang lower than my dot, really screwy flight guidance, a wing as an afterthought, but oddly enough when you lose all your hydraulics... it's all good.

She'd better not. You are going to be senior for a long time. :D
