Mid Crew Rest Compartment. I had to ask after I asked if the 330 crew rest seat was resolved.

What the heck is a NWA longevity issue?

While a Delta pilot's longevity date (for vacation, pay, sick, etc.) has always been his date of hire, a NWA pilot's longevity date was the date that the first pilot in his class finished his OE.

Is that underfloor or a condo in the cabin? Are we talking about the -300's?

I think the fact that he told you this makes it seem as though the company had leverage with this issue. Apparently, they wanted to change it.

I asked specifically about it and the wording was "retained."

CDOs is a huge negative for me. There is no comparing a long flight were you get a rest on the jet to a landing, walk, bus, check in, undress, sleep maybe, dress, bus, security, preflight, taxi, t/o. That is where I get tired, all the ancillary crap, not the flying.

If it's where the FA's are now, it's under floor. The -200's already have a below-deck facility in the back, so this must be about the -300's.

CDO's seem like a concession after record 1st qtr profits. I'll reserve judgement until we know details, but it seems to be another way to decrease manning. :(

FAR 117 permit 9hr 2man and 13:30 3 man in many circumstances... Of course the Company wanted to loosen that. That would have been a what we commonly refer to as a "concession". No concession was granted, even though UAL does fly to FAR's in this regard and no doubt it is an increased cost for the company.

Thanks. That's what I was thinking too. Well with more, perhaps many more of these on the way, that'd be a big improvement.

CDO's... they did suck in a previous lifetime. But we had tag-on turns, no minimum behind door rules, and no duty day limits based on time of day. With a pay bump, and the right sort of protections, these might actually go senior. All depends on the details. I'd think the 717 would see a lot of these, maybe a few on the 88 too.

How can not allowing it be an increased cost if we've never allowed it? Wouldn't it be more correct to say that we did not agree to save them more money?
