Anybody know if any of our bros have been forced to evacuate or had home damage with the fires in SoCal? I'm north of them but it's been incredibly hot and windy. Lots of LAX guys live down there.

Memrat

The update from some councils today made it sound as though the MEC has not yet decided whether memrat will be required on this LOA. Opinions from the line pilot seem to go both ways. Some feel we have elected our reps to make those sorts of decisions, while others feel that an LOA this large that affects multiple sections of the contract should be put before the membership.

If you have strong feelings one way or the other on the issue PLEASE CONTACT YOUR REPS AND MAKE YOUR OPINIONS KNOWN!!

The email I received said the meeting would be an open session. Everyone invited.

Yes, the Delta Pilot Network is maintaining and constantly updating a list of pilots who live in the area and are calling to check with them and their families to offer Contract Admin/Scheduling resources and to coordinate AERF grants/loans if needed.

If anyone needs help or wants to offer assistance to their fellow pilots; send an email to [email protected].

Shoot.. I'll be working. Throw up some shockers for me, boys. My vote is for MEMRAT!

For S2 pass days we get 6 annually however, does it matter how many family members travel on the day?? Can 4 family members travel on a S2 day and only count as one S2 event?

Each family member gets 6, s2 passes per year. So they can use them if you are traveling with them or on their own.

I think it's 6 per family member, JA.

When you finish your trip that day, each family member will still have 5 S2's left, including you -- if you travel with them.

Well if they are considering MEMRAT, maybe there are more significant changes than I thought. This might be the second contract/LOA that actually exceeded my expectations.

Have a good weekend everybody, E

If they make it widely known that they are going to keep the meeting open, they might set some kind of attendance record for a union meeting. Pizza and a nice IPA would guarantee it. ;)

Pretty hard to form an opinion about a blank sheet of paper. They need to publish it.

They have the language. Just put it out. We don't need a long "Negotiator Notepad" or anything else that the usual suspects could possibly interpret as a "sales job".

Here's a novel idea. How about a "No Spin Zone" for this one?

Just send it out without comment, let the pilots read it and communicate to their reps and then have the meeting.
Democracy is a beautiful concept.
