... well maybe the 737 and 757 too. I don't know, could you fly ATL-FLL for a stand-up? It could really have a major impact on domestic flying in general.
All aircraft types that have 30+ hour layovers now could have CDO's. 757 for sure. |

I have heard the company wants illegal overights, leans, CDO's, or whatever you want to call them. Usually when I hear something, it's almost a done deal sadly.

Of course they do. And we want to only work 1 day/month for a million dollar signing bonus....
What is with the drama today? Schedule with safety. Yeah, right. |
Hey ALPA -
What are you doing? The clock is ticking. If its possible there is not going to be memrat and you plan to vote up or down on Wednesday  -- we need to see this thing NOW! Just put the LOA out. You can write all the extra stuff over the next couple days. |

If the scope is what has been stated it should go to mem ratification. Some aspects might Need to implemented right away for obvious reasons. I guess they could do that on a temp basis until ratified.

I'm hearing that long call would only be extended to 13 hours - if that's the case then it's a no vote from me
Would that make a difference? |

Someone else posted that ADG (which applies to both regular and reserve) is being improved. What if it's all the way up to 5:15 per day, such that reserves now get the same pay for every trip as regulars?

I'd like to see that. Then these 3 day all nighters that currently pay 13:30 would go more senior.
The catch is the "exceptions". Late sign-ins and early arriving all-nighters may not count as a "day". We need the language! |
Dangerous?

CDO's are DANGEROUS....period, end of discussion. If this goes to Memrat it's an automatic NO vote from me. If it's included and passes and if I'm ever assigned one it will warrant a Fatigue call on the return leg.
I spoke with 2 of my reps and got some of the alleged details of the CDO language. 1) The legs to be flown cannot be more than 2 hours in length 2) The CDO layover has to be SCHEDULED for > 6 hours. I am with you that a pilot isn't going to get the kind of sleep they would prefer but it is a pretty good amount considering the old CDO's had us sleeping on the airplane at times! (XJ Days) The CDOs are going to go fairly senior due to the trip rig and I also think that solving the 30 hours layover issue is in everybody's interest. If I can get home 12 hours earlier and make the same amount of money, I'm all in. I don't see aiding the company from an efficiency standpoint as a "give" on the negotiating front. It is a quality of life issue for pilots. We can fit more flying into our schedules (if you choose to do so) and you spend more time at home. It is a win-win. |

Seems like CDO + IROP = cancelation
