To be clear, all I know is that someone else posted about an increase to ADG.
But there are exceptions. Devil in the details on this one. |

Ok so currently when I fly an all nighter my duty day limit, per my contract, is 9 hours for any report between 2100-2359 (when a lot of these CDO's will report). FAR 117 is less restrictive with an 12 hour duty limit with a 2100 sign in.
So say you have a CDO that reports at 2100 so a 2200 take off and it's a 1.5 flight, so you land at 2330 and you say we have to have greater than 6 hours off so lets use 6.5 hours. next flight report is 0600 with a 0700 takeoff and an 0830 block in. Total duty day appears to be 11.5 hours. Just under the FAR 117 max and a heck of a lot longer than the current allowed for a coast to coast all nighter. Welcome to the world of night freight. fly a leg, go to the hub and try and get some rest then fly absolutely bleary eyed to the outstation. If you gave me the choice of one of the two of those, versus ATL-SRQ (for example), spend 6 hours in a hotel bed, then SRQ-ATL in the morning, I would take option B in a nanosecond, as would most of us. Don't worry. IF the contractual language is tight enough, these will most likely go pretty senior. The devil is in the language and I will give the reps I elected to do this job the ability to do so, without bombarding them with protests before they even get the chance to review everything. |

Hey ALPA -
What are you doing? The clock is ticking. If its possible there is not going to be memrat and you plan to vote up or down on Wednesday  -- we need to see this thing NOW! Just put the LOA out. You can write all the extra stuff over the next couple days. You can tell a sales job is coming when some new posters fire up on here (less than 20 posts or so), beginning to counter any opposition there may be. That's happening now. The next thing I expect is a big email from ALPA listing all of the advantages of the new LOA, and not a single drawback. The pattern has repeated several times during my few years here. |

Do you get a hotel room for six hours at the hub? |

I would imagine that the long call reserve piece needs resolution sooner rather than later.
