Wondering what would have the potential for greater income in a 1-3 yr time frame. NYC FO MD-88, or NYC B767ER.
I live 30 mins from LGA and JFK. I've been told better to be senior on a junior airplane but just wondering if the greater hourly rate on the B767ER would make it a wash. With that in mind, if you want to do the absolute minimum amount of work, than the ER will pay more because of the rate. If you like having a line, the 88 will get you that faster and with more hours on average. If you want green slips the 88 will most likely offer far more for a greater period of the year than the ER will. One compromise you may consider is the 73N. Pay rate gap is much less, its a growing fleet and some of the flying is pretty good. 88 will win out on progression, command of your schedule and overtime potential though. Also the 320 could be very good to a true local (as opposed to the fake 3 hour drive "locals" lol) and its slated to be a growing fleet although maybe not in NYC. But overtime also flows there like the beer flows like wine in Aspen, particularly if you can put out fires on a regular basis (OMG HOW SOON CAN YOU GET HERE OMG OMG OMG!!!!! ITS 5:29AM CAN YOU MAKE A 5:30AM REPORT? OMG OMG OMG!!!!) = mad money for anyone on the 88/320 that lives 30 minutes away. |
I saw a little blurb on Dlnet that the amendment to protect our skies passed. I didn't read the article but looks like the emails and ALPA pulled off a win for US Airlines. Well done guys.

The amendment to the House bill passed, but the House bill hasn't yet passed. Neither has the Senate bill. And of course it hasn't been signed into law by the pres yet. We still have all of that to go yet…just to have a chance at current, already existing laws and agreements being upheld.
