Well, here's some good news, bad news, so-so news.

Good news: we've purchased four of Singapore's 747-400's.
Bad news: we're using them for parts.
So-so news: wouldn't have done that if we were planning on dumping the entire fleet in the near term.

Also, the first 3 that are leaving this month are leased and will be returned to the lessor. The last of the four (ship 6301) is owned by Delta and will be sent to the desert, but preserved and covered for possible re-introduction.

That's all I know.

But if all the other work groups that are still "at the mainline" have been restored to pre-BK pay, then we need to get the megaphones ready for any incendary Bolshevik-provocateur McKensie/Ford&Harrison "me-too!" nonsense because that dog don't hunt. Period. They say "me-too!" we say, respectfully that's our point.

I guess the question becomes what is more relevant. Pay rates at the peak or pay rates relative to what the industry pays today. If it's pay rates relative to the industry then we are the highest paid employees at Delta. If it's pay rates relative to the peak we are below the peak and the other employees who's jobs did not go to DGS or be reclassified as part time are back to their peak with regard to hourly rates. In work rules and retirement they are far behind not to mention they did not get the big increase from 01-04.
If you want to justify a large pay increase on the basis of what the other employees make to the NMB you will probably wind up looking foolish to the NMB when costs relative to the industry are put on the table. It would not be a smart strategy.

Let me first say I believe there is some value in profiling, but

A couple weeks ago, there was a dead Isis fighter who was American and not born Muslim. There are a larger number of Ethiopian cabin cleaners who are not Isis fighters.

That said, IMO, the real issue with (potential) domestic terrorists is whether or not they integrate into society or keep themselves separated from it.

Actually a correction to your so so news. The Singapore jets have the same series engines as the 767er. The engines will be rebuilt, but used as 767 engines afterward. The acquisition/part out has nothing to do with our continued keeping of 747s.

This is why I think we need to focus on value increases rather than straight pay. 6 hrs/day for everything, 401k to 415c limit by the company, hard dates and firm cures for all JV, network, codeshare, etc violations. Etc.

A slight correction -- we gave up trips touching for vacation in POS96.

There are lots of areas we can focus on beyond straight rates. Pilots however tend to focus on those rates. I would like as a example to see night pay come back and theater pay for Africa and South America.

IMO, with the survey out now, these are the kinds of discussions we need to be having.
