Correct.
If you were under a category freeze, you could still bid SEA 73N when it is established as a new category. You would still incur a 2 year category freeze beginning on the date of the award for the AE to SEA 73N. A category is only considered to be "new or reestablished" for the first 60 days beginning with the first day a pilot could convert into the category. Section 22 A.7. An award to a new CATEGORY does not qualify for relocation benefits. That would require an award to a new or reestablished BASE (PDX, MEM, DFW, MCO, etc). Section 6 A.3. |

No, the reason we're going no where is because there is no where to go that's worth the effort and expense.
Look, I dig exploration and space tech for its own sake, but it takes BIG bucks. Until it takes not so big bucks, or there is a promise of a huge payday for someone, robots will be getting all the glory. It took the promise of gold and riches to lure explorers to get into leaky boats, for months at a time. 16th century Europe make not have been as groovy as it is now, but it sure beat getting scurvy, eating crap food, drinking foul water, enduring brutal treatment, only to wind up sunk and forgotten on the far side of the world. So why did they do it? Money. Nu |
BTW, December flight operations update confirmed that SEA 737 will be available for bid in January. I'm torn, I'd much rather live in SEA than ATL but I honestly don't think there is a decent school district where I can get a nicely appointed house for <$150/sf (which is already a stretch, <$125/sf is a lot more cumfy) that keeps my commute under an hour. Somebody please tell me I'm wrong and point me in the right direction :).

Best option at that price might be Tumwater/Olympia/E. Olympia. Nice area.

Concur, really nice area. I lived in North Tacoma before having kids, quite nice but no idea on schools. Gig harbor is pretty awesome. Bellingham is a great town, but drive to the airport looks pretty not fun.

Haven't lived there in a decade, Tacoma traffic wasn't bad in my day. There's SEA based folks who live in Vancouver, so it must be doable.
