Will I be able to dump that trip via PCS on the 20th (assuming reserve coverage on 1 May is sufficient) or do I have to wait until PBS results for May are published and they can determine that reserve coverage is adequate for the entire 5 day?

Look back a Couple of pages. Just answered with the contract section posted. Short answer is yes, recent contract improvement.

Thailand has obscenity laws?

If only there were some pilots around here to fly that thing home for you. of course, we'd have to visit Timbo's to get some fortitude before making the long journey north...

You guys are welcome to drop in any time, the weather and water are warm but the beers are cold. I could probably find you a hanger for the Pacer for a week or so, and I promise not to fly it too much. :D

That's what I was thinking.... that's the debauchery that Thailand is worried about???? Have they ever visited Pattaya Beach?

PD/APD question. When dropping a reserve day can you specify the number of days to drop, and does the reserve coverage have to be adequate for each of those days? New to reserve and the PWA doesn't seem clear on this. Thanks.

You specify the days you want to drop.
For a PD the reserve coverage must be positive for any dropped days.
For a APD you only need 25% of the reserves required.

You can not change your mind and fly on any day touching a APD. As a line holder you can, however drop a 4 day trip by putting an APD on day 1. This allows you to WS or GS any flying on days 2-4.

Ask away, Mike. All of us were new guys once. The new company/new airplane/new commute/new contract/new culture stuff isn't always a lot of fun.

You might want to keep the ALPA committee corner in mind for technical/contract questions that don't need an immediate response, and keep the 800-USA-ALPA number at hand for things that need a personal explanation. While most everyone here tries hard, there's a lot of incorrect information put out in this electronic "water cooler."

Better to ask the experts than learn the hard way.

Thanks. Seems pretty straightforward, then.
