That sounds about right. Some of these will be part timers (60k) but median and full time would be about 125 - 160 or so. Younger docs starting out without patient base would likely get less unless they are in an underserved area in which they get recruitment bonuses and higher pay.

I haven't read the entire thread, but the fact that both of you just referred to the middle class as scum is grossly offensive. I would venture to guess that any physician who refers to any of their patients in the same way would not be very successful. Are you one of those captains, or even worse, first officers, who refuses to stand at the cockpit door and thank our passengers?

A little bit of humility might go a long way... Even if the above coment was said in jest.

He was making fun of the ratcheting up of expectations on the thread, it was made in jest.

But I agree with you. In a way my patients (your passengers) are my boss - I exist to serve them, and if it weren't for them, my job wouldn't exist. It is something we should take seriously.

Management on the other hand...

Lighten up Francis. Do you go around in life looking for reasons to be offended. It was obviously said in jest.

I understand, but this is not perhaps a topic to joke about. Behind closed doors, yes. On a public forum, no. How would you like to see the above published in the USA Today should contract negotiations go south? I can see it now: "Delta pilots strike because they are not compensated more than the 'middle class scum'". Look at the heat that Mitt Romney took for his 49% comment.

And he was right. It's a tragedy when truth isn't allowed to stand on its own.

I've known a few doctors, they didn't make hardly any money in the beginning, now they're rolling. so it's an apples to oranges comparison to compare mainline delta to GP pay that includes residency pay.

I was just about 40 years old before I paid off my medical school loans. I lived frugally for all of my 20's, most of my 30's, and only really became financially secure after that. Yes, now I can easily afford a plane but if a person in a "standard career" started saving and investing early they also could do well.

Most of my pro pilot friends had their ATP by mid 20's, it is a somewhat shorter career track to left seat. I think the biggest factors are the responsibility involved (a 100 million dollar jet is more expensive than some companies, so you should be paid for the responsibility and expertise).

Grossly offensive? Is that a real thing?
I now remember why I don't post here - obviously you're another member of the participation trophy, PC police, we're-all-winners generation. Lighten up. What you really are is a buzzkill.

Buh bye.
