There is no freeze into a new category. I'm sure many of them bid SEA to get out of a freeze elsewhere. Once you are on an aircraft there is no restriction on bidding other bases. I know two guys who bid the 73 in SEA to get out of a freeze, and have already bid back to ATL.......having never spent a day in SEA. It's an effective strategy.

Nice play! I had never thought of using that angle before, great idea to get into an LAX/ATL 737 seat if you are locked, bid SEA and then bid out!

I know this guy...hired on the second day of the hiring wave which started the latter part of 2013. He said it seemed far fetched but why not, especially if no one senior wanted it.
