Bump. I am still very interested in your point of referencing this information.

After the last AE the Captains had about 20 more pilots than the FOs in LAX, so I think they are just balancing them out.

What was the total 401K/IRA accounts? If there are 1 Billion accounts, then .6% of them with over a million is a lot of accounts with a million.

There are probably millions of IRA accounts in the USA for kids that have less than $1000 in them that their parents start then don't fund regularly. I think those numbers don't prove that the 401K model is a poor alternative, it shows that there are LOTS of people who have those accounts and the vast majority of the people don't fund them.

I wouldn't trade what we now have at Delta for the old pension. Some of us younger folks will retire better off with the DC plan than the old pension would have given us. That is if the government doesn't steal it from us or change the way they tax it.......which is probably what will happen.

Well that was why I asked the question. At DAL, since you get the contribution without ANY match required on your part, you would have to be a blithering idiot to end up with $55K, and even then I am not sure it could be done. So I am trying to find out what his motive/point was in posting that.

The last AE had a couple of categories that would only be filled if guys bid out of NYC or DTW. So not really any new positions just shuffling of seats.

Does anybody know if it is the same situation on this AE? I did not see any comments from Crew Resources.

Go to Flt Ops. On the right under the Headlines is the accompanying explanation letter from Crew Resources. I haven't digested it yet.

Yeah, not sure either.

If you run some quick numbers, over a 30 year career at Delta if you put in 15% and Delta puts in 16% you should have about $5 Million. That's a conservative figure using a 6% return rate and an average salary over the 30 years of 200K. You are probably realistically looking at more like $8 Million using an 8% return rate and 250K average salary.

Wah! I was over thirty during Woodstock, thus ineligible for attendance. However, you could buy a Connie for $1.95 and move all the pot you wanted to...Back when that sort of thing was sport.

Any of you sailboat racers, here's a good time waster. You are the red boat, you'll see the black boat (the computer's boat) you are racing against as soon as you tack. Good luck!

SailRacer.net wind game. Can you do better than a computer.
