Yes, if you don't manage your IRA/401K like a hawk on your own, you will wind up with basically nothing. Fidelity claims they will manage your money to a lucrative retirement, this is NOT the case.

I think its more the case that people are generally terrible with money. It's unreal how common it is for people to pull money from their 401k to pay for a toy, run up their credit cards, and so on.

Or how about it just stays the same and they can use a couple bills from the 6 BILLION they will make this year to cover their costs of working us so hard we are getting sick more often?

or that. I'm fine with that too :)

Exactly, just ask the TWA crew that were cleared for an approach into IAD in IFR conditions and descended down to the MDA. Slammed into Bull Run Mountain about 3 miles from my house.

Memories...

If this makes you feel better. In 2004 the election was on and I was based in CLE for Coex. It was right at the start of a morning bank and ramp tower tells everyone if you can get going you'll be able to get out before AF1 comes in and we sit the place down. So we all rush and about halfway through the push we get the all stop where you are call.

So I flip over to tower to listen in and here AF1 come in. Obviously we can hear tower but not AF1... or maybe it was approach. I can't totally remember but the sequence went like this:

ATC: Air Force 1 Cleveland Hopkins is at your 12 o'clock and 10 miles call it in sight.

It's now 8 miles and 12 o'clock call it in sight...

6 miles and 12 o'clock low call it in sight...

4 miles and 12 o'clock call it in sight...

Yes you are cleared to make a Right 360...

You are cleared the visual and cleared to land.

:D I think they also cleared them lower each time. ATC always seems to think lower makes it easier to see.

That brings back a great memory FTB. I was going in to CLE that day and we were told by ATC if we hurried we might be able to make it in before the VIP arrival. We did our best but ATC finally pulled the plug and held us at the outer marker at 6000 feet. We heard the same exchange between AF1 and ATC and enjoyed a good laugh as we watched the big bird crank around in a big circle just below us. I cannot believe that was 11 years ago!

What does "SP" on the schedule signify? Spillover since it goes into the next month?

^^^^^

This is why the economic assumptions don't work. That and you really need to save 15% of your own money regardless of what your employer matches or puts in for you. If everyone would put in 15%, diversify well with 5 funds, never borrow from yourself, and never try and time the market, then the situation would be different for the 401K/IRA plans.

The AF1 360 could be a security measure. I'll leave it at that.

Do you guys really think they have some incompetent jokers flying the president around?

To give TWA a small break, the weather sucked that day, moderate to severe turb. below 10,000. I landed at JFK, wind was 290/35G53. I just had the F/O call out relative airspeed, as you could not read it. 155 bug, made the first turn off. Uphill both ways, lions, tigers......
