Like Hillbilly said, you're down the coverage ladder to get a trip. I will say that in 11 years here, most of it on reserve, I've never had that happen. Basically, there has to be no one who wants a GS and no one to reroute to allow you to be flown on a X-day in your scenario.

I have never had it happen either. I did however get called once to DH to from SLC to Vegas at 7pm on my last reserve day and ferry a aircraft back to SLC releasing at 2359!

Were you on LC? The question was about non-auto-release LC at 12pm.

Now that's just efficient scheduling! I bet when schedulers get together over beers, "I once got a guy on his last day of reserve, released at 2359!" :D:D:D

I don't think they brag unless they've extended someone well into their X days, or subsequent-month lineholders' days off.

Different reserve system back then. You were on shortcall every day for 6 hours split into two windows. They snagged me on the late window.

I suspect since it was a ferry they built it with the release time in mind.

I had a ferry that was timed to be 1 minute under 16 hours on duty. I told C/S that if it looked like we would run over, I would be introducing 757 service into BTR. Hotel we went.

Yay!!!!! After 4+ years I finally get some guys coming into my category junior to me!:D

Of course there haven't been any AE positions available until now either.... The category had shrunk from a high of 105 down to 56.

Good for you; I know you've been thinking about displacements, but now it seems the tide has turned. Well earned!
