Wow.

ATL is losing 502 widebody pilot positions? Out of about 2400 existing 767/7ER/765/777 ATL positions thats about 20% of all widebody flying before you kick back in 105 for the ER and of course 90 on the narrows.

I didn't know DAL was cutting ATL flying so much. But like always, you never know how this stuff will shake out especially since a) AE isn't out yet and b) nobody has figured out what they want to do yet c) AE isn't closed yet and d) AE isn't posted yet.

Here's to hoping 755 MEM is for real.

They are not cutting the flying!

They aren't - other bases (like DTW) will fly the ATL trips. ie: DTW-ATL- everywhere else-DTW

and that is what will **** off the ATL pilots. If a bunch of 767 positions need to go away, why can't all the bases share in the pain?

Easy. Money. We are a huge domestic category. That is going bye bye. Got to cut it sometime. DTW is overstaffed on the 755. They will be able to move a lot of those trips to them with little or no training to do it, when there will probably be 3000-4000 training events on this bid. Sucks

Plus what better way to get rid of the junior scope hawks in the ATL base than to kick em out!

Don't forget they will not be ATL pilots much longer.

I think you can stay in your council if you want, but if you move...probably wouldn't make much sense. However who can afford to move. Currently -9 F, 10F for a high tomorrow, how's that cold weather altimetry working for you?

Ok here is what I was told by three different sources and the numbers are really close

Should see about 100 extra positions than displacements which means we will have about 100 seats that are not filled.

Does that mean hiring or just short staffed?

Short staffed, but will reserve judgment for the D22 report. They have not determined if they "will" We have about 150 guys that want to return from furlough bypass.
