So far great, managed to get the through the type rating without too much trouble! I haven't got to touch the real aircraft yet though..... They are way behind in training and my first OE trip isn't scheduled until Dec 20th! Hence the reason there were no 744 awards for the March APA.

lucky you! They hit us up for OE within 2 days of the LOE. Don't forget everything while you're on your company sponsored vacation ;)

Hey, does anyone know if now that we've had DCC, has every part of LOA 19 taken effect? Specifically, are there only 6 short-calls per month vs. 8 now? Thanks.

Yep, you're done with short calls at 6 now.

Yeah the DAL side has had the changes but the NWA wont see those changes until "bid period five".

Whenever that is.

But Yep, six is the number. Get your pay bum Jan 1st.

And since I'm asking questions, does anyone on the DAL side know if there is a plan to one day merge the 765 into 7ER/767? I believe at CAL you fly all 3 types, 752/3 - 762 - 764, domestic and international.

Are we going to that? I know they'd like to just have everyone on the 767 be 7ER too eventually, I was just wondering if that was in the master plan as well.

I was told during training that the 765 and 7ER could not be one category (type) because the FAA considered them too dissimilair in terms of the cockpit. I do not know if other companies have different set-ups. Also, as far as every 76 pilot being domestic and intl, DAL puts a big emphasis on cross oceanic flying and therefore ER pilots must do a one day class and two sims to be qualled. An expense they don't want to incur for every pilot. They are trying to control problems that have occurred on the North Atlantic Tracks that have happened in the past.

I heard that NWA has no such training program for their bubbas nor oceanic OE requirements so if that is true that will be interesting to see how DAL treats that. There has been a recent FAA turnover in ATL and I hear they are hard a$$es and are looking at those type of issues. Worst case, NWA guys may have to do this in time as part of their recurrent. At least they will get paid for it and can get introduced to crab legs at Spondivits.

Likewise are Greenslips now x2 instead of x1.5? Anyone know?

I'm pretty sure that for the old DL side of things we are now completely covered by the JCBA. There are a few parts on the old NW side that will be phased in over time. I don't think that LOA 19 ever went into effect - It was superseded by the JCBA.

In the crew lounge today, management pilot said there is a displacement bid in January. Anyone hear the same rumor?

I've heard it's very likely.
