They probably added ppl to training after their lines were built. If not that they released the hold back that they are allowed to keep.

DAL flight with smoke in the cabin diverted in to STL (JFK-SFO)

If you run bootcamp, parallels, etc I know you can install windows and run PC programs but I don't know of any way to do this on OSx without windows installed.

I am running VMWare Fusion on my MacBook I am very pleased with it.
I run Windows XP and it runs great. I upgraded my Macbook's memory to 4GB.

How the heck does one start OSx in pc mode?

320,

You'll need to first "partition" your hard drive through the program on your computer called "Boot Camp Assistant". Placing a partition in your hard drive is basically dedicating a portion of the memory to the Mac software, and whatever you've "partitioned", the rest of the memory to the PC software.
(i.e. 200GB hard drive. 50/50 partition allows you 100GB for Mac operations, and 100GB for PC operations/programs.)

After you've done that, shut down the computer normally and while starting it up again, hold down the "Option" key and it'll start up in PC mode instead of Mac mode.

Questions? 1-800-275-2273 is the number for Apple tech support. They're very helpful and can walk you through it, probably a little more clearly than I've stated it, over the phone.

Good luck,

GJ

My issue is I do not want to go purchase software + OS to run a training cd. If Delta expects us to have a specific computer and OS they need to provide it.

Quick question......

I got all my MD88 training material but the IQST disc is only windows based, does DAL have a mac version? If not how do they expect guys who do not own a pc to complete the training? (And please don't say buy a pc or run windows on your mac).

Thanks

They don't care. Some of my wife's FA training still involves a B drive floppy. Fortunately I still have an old computer with one. Good luck on the Mad Dog.

I agree with you, but we've already been down that road long ago. It ain't gonna happen my friend.

So if you can't run the disc and show up to training without them being completed what happens? I assume one will be sent home until completion without pay. In this case a grievance would need to be filed to get everything rectified..... Guess I'll call my reps tomorrow :(

acl65pilot 03-30-2010 03:40 PM

I guess you could use one of their computers that they provide in the media rooms in the crew lounges to do your training!

I am really kidding. This stinks.
