Maybe they are going to shift the flying to something else therefore needing the same or less bodies they currently have.
88 ATL is increasing utilization AGAIN, so we are probably taking your crappy shorter stuff and 320 takes our longer or heavier legs..... |
Same with the 73N. If you're not flying it is because you're at 30 in 7.
Sinca beat me to it, but they're trying to staff the Douglas jets, even if the displacement will be for less than 4 months before folks reinstate out of them. Apparently fuel costs and sending pilots to the schoolhouse three times in a year are not that big a deal. If the September prognostications are correct I'll get to check on 4 airplanes in ~ 15 to 16 months. Guess training is a "fixed cost." |
The SEA 320 was talked about about two years ago, so even I was a little surprised to see it show up in there.
|
Bar, what is interesting is I know pilots that are not flying anywhere near that much on the 73N in ATL.

IF IF IF we merge with AS, there will be a 10 mile deep moat around their SEA flying. Probably not the LAX stuff but the SEA stuff.

12. A pilot who holds an MD will, without regard to the standing bids of senior pilots, be reinstated to the category from which he was displaced if: a. a vacancy is posted in such category and the earliest conversion date stated in the posting is within the 180 day period following the conversion date of his MD, b. his standing bid indicates a request for such reinstatement, and c. such vacancy has not been filled by reinstatement of a pilot senior to him who was also awarded an MD from such category Well, at least being the most senior MD'd FO on the ATL7ER during the last AE gives me some horsepower..... |

I sure hope we build the same sized "moat" around our WB flying.............. |
GREAT a positive bid,but to me it looks like a fnw favored bid again with lost of lifestyle changes for fdl pilots.
so much for the rumored A330Atl. Awful for the cvg boys. Not much heavy recovery for Atl,after the last bid. |
