What I should've added, and this is important, was the impression I got was that it wasn't a "screw NWA new hires" attitude on the DAL team but rather a "are you kidding me NWA merger team, you didn't realize this before?!? its too late now because we'd have to undo everything..."

I'd think it could've been easily done had it been brought up before but it was a package, I guess an economic package and there might not have been the wiggle room to fix it and it was, listen because I'm paraphrasing as best I can, justified because of the entirety of the package for new hires. Of course, that is going on deaf ears right now with the folks affected but thats what both merger groups agreed to.

You know how FTB was out of the country, unable to post even in a jetway, there were no pictures posted for 25 pages, give or take. :D

But thats my thing and I'm sticking to it. And here is one for those who might not have believed 150 seat MD88s were coming nor 160 seat MD90s. The "that'll never happen, I've been here for ## years and let me tell you about Delta..." Mostly line folks, you guys on here are way up to date.

Anyways, the FCB in our vfiles today included a new one for the new MD88 and MD90 configurations, and btw, the pilot closet is officially labeled as Galley 1, no more closet:

If you still don't believe me go look it up on deltanet under the Mighty MD-88 Maddog, FCB's. ;)

The price using ballpark figures for this little "goof" on the NWA MEC's part was just under 700K. Not cheap, and once you agree to a package price with the company then you would start taking from other places and that gets really messy. (IBB style is what I would call it)

FtB;
We talked about all of these changes two years ago, and ppl did not beleive them. We talked about hiring last winter and here it is, etc. Now everyone knows that all things here at DAL take time, and generally take a lot longer than the patience many pilots have! :D

Lesson number one for all of this stuff!!!!!

So...can we get a LOA increasing the 88 pay now that we will have 150 seats? Will the 90's have 4 FAs ?

Sorry, I don't understand. Where you f_DAL or F_NWA? Because Delta's 767 FO's were integrated with DC9 pilots. But the DC9 guys had stagnated for a decade while their MEC outsourced E175's and 737 flying to Alaska, so a few of them ended up behind Delta new hires, which made them angry.

To be honest, I knew it would cause some back and forth. My posting this was to show that most of the guys I talk to and correspond with feel this way including myself. I received this email from the author himself and 8 other guys who forwarded it to me. A lot of it is under the bridge, probably most of it. But the one thing that is not under the bridge is how most of us still feel about it. The one point you as a DAL south guy can take away is how we really feel. To say this is divisive is silly in that you think that it is not already there. I think to ignore it and hope it goes away is a mistake. Hopefully there will be someway forward that things might improve for boths sides and in years to come these feelings die down.

I don't have a problem with the DAL way of doing things, that's what they are paying me to do now. Am I happy??? No, but who cares. Am I making more money for the same hours??? NO but who cares. Am I working 30-40 days more a year for the same pay??? Yes but who cares. Is my QOL better??? Way NO but who cares. I don't really care anymore because if you do it will drive you to do things you wouldn't normally do.

Finally I wish us all good luck and hope that we all do better in the next contract.;)

Nevermind. This isn't worth it anymore. I won't change anyone's minds on here, and even if I did it's irrelevant because no one on here can change it anyway.
