For what it's worth I am with you on this one but you are probably right.

I find it ironic that a 747-400 FO has it in their position "FO Forever." That's your choice, hoss. Every "super premium" FO can hold captain.

j, I'm with you about the new hrie NWA pilot's DC. I think most all of us are. But you're right, we can't go back and change it and we can't do anything about it right now. But we're aware of it and I want to see it changed.
End of story.

However, not totally the end. I don't know if there are many DAL 1991 hires on here but if you want to talk about a group thats had a rotten time talk about them, or better yet, get them talking. And now things become a mess because it becomes a "what about me". And then everyone starts screaming.

I don't ever want to see the SLI revisited, but things like the NWA new hire DC I hope are. imho.

Guys of the northern persuasion:

I rode in the back of a 320 from JFK to ATL today.

We taxiied out in JFK on 2 engines. In JFK! Had a nice lengthy taxi in...also the entire time on 2 engines.

The APU was left on and running at the gate with power plugged in and air hooked up....when I rode by it on the employee bus 20 minutes later it was still running as well.

We can do better than that... that is just wasteful and lazy.

Well, that's my new fact of life. I was on the edge of holding 330A. Now I have 1550 DALs guys in front of me of which 1340 have a junior DOH and almost all of them are younger than me. Yes I can hold Capt on alot positions(767) but the trips I can hold in my seniority are mostly all domestic which I do not care to do or I would be on reserve. So to maintain my QOL that I still have I will have to stay where I am pretty much the rest of my career. Not complaining just stating the facts for just me since you asked. I just chalk it up to "That's Life":(

Well, bid what you want and want what you bid. You might get 330A. Captain I was flying with, one of those furloughed 1991 hires, held 767A way way out of normal seniority in 2007. Thats what big AE's are great for. But he was knocked out and was told to pass the 737 and don't collect a type and go straight to the 88A and still not be very senior. He bids down to RSV. Had he bid 737 in 2007 he'd be a 737 A today. I think he misses 777B.

With interviews starting in Jul (friend of mind got invite today) I'm curious if any guys who didn't get in under the wire with fNWA have gotten word of a class date or an offer to re-interview. Would one expect the first indoc class to start in mid/late Aug if interviews are taking place in Jul?

80ktsClamp 06-17-2010 08:08 PM

Exactly, ftb. Unbelievable making the choice not to hold 767A and then complaining about it. Then again, we are pilots...

Someone posted earlier that there are 2 classes in Aug... one on the 2nd and another I believe on the 16th.

Congrats to your friend!
