Well, I just answered my own question by trying to pick it up. No go. You get an error message saying "MUST BE IN SAME CATEGORY." This makes no sense since it's obviously the same category. I can understand trying to pick up something in a -90 qualified base, but it should allow us to pick up in ATL. This is a feature that should be added since there's nothing restricting it in the PWA and there's zero cost to the company. Oh well...
Per the PWA Section 2 this is the definition of category: 31. “Category” means the combination of a pilot’s position and base So technically you are not in same category if you have a different base. It would be nice to be able to do what you want though. Denny |
Conversation with dispatch today.
"I have you filed at M 0.82 all the way today instead of cost index 32" Why? "Apparently there was a big meeting with RA yesterday and he wants to re-emphasize on-time performance." |

Somebody calculated it and its worth posting, what would it cost to build the Death Star? It is 17.16 quadrillion cubic meters and will require 1.71 quadrillion cubic meters of steel, about 134 quadrillion tonnes, all of it shipped into space. Then add air, shipped into space, and so on, and you get a total of:
$15,602,022,489,829,821,422,840,226.94. Yes, that’s a whooping 1.4 trillion times the current US Debt. |

RA is very upset about our D-0 rate. We will soon push on time with or without our weights. This per a Chief LCA.
15 out of 17 flights on my last 2 rotations were operated late. Every one of them could have gone on time if people were doing their jobs... |
Couple of weeks ago 25 minutes early, sat in front of gate watching ground guys fiddle **** around, walk off, come back, play with wands, walk off and finally get parked 3 minutes late. Great job! At first I just assumed it was FNW IAM rampers trying to make a point. Wrong. DGS. Year of the customer my ass. Btw 80 knots, I single engine taxied, and we held off starting the APU just to make YOU proud. And yes FCR was filed. While this has been my worst experience yet with what y'all call underwing, there are many other situations that I have been very underwhelmed with DLs ground handling.

Not to mention that **it hole of an operation in JFK. I am turly embarrassed for Delta every time I go in or out of that place. I had a scheduled 32 minute turn in ATL the other day........are you high?

I would call scheduling, the worst they can do is say no. However, I would wait for the next shift, the guys that are there right now cancelled my trip after sign in at 17:30 and then assigned me SC at 4AM.... And the next day is a golden day... Nice...

Trip construction is a big part of the problem right now. On the DC9 we are getting 4 leg days with 35 - 45 minute turn times (and often an ac swap) in places like DTW, ATL, JFK, etc. Not very realistic, and as soon as something gets you behind it just snowballs all day.
