Not to sound like Jerry Seinfeld here, but what's the deal with DAL's Non Rev dress code, and who the heck enforces it? I know the gate agents are supposed to, but based on some of the people I've seen in 1st class this past summer I can definitely say the gate agents are NOT enforcing the dress code.
The worst example I've experienced this summer was a family who was riding MIA-MEM. The entire family was in shorts, tank tops, and flip flops. They were all in first class, sunburnt and snacking away. As if their apperance for riding in 1st class for next to nothing wasn't bad enough, the mother had the audacity to complain when she found out they would have to switch planes in MEM. I'm guessing, because they might lose those 1st class seats. She said 'Well its says continuing service, so why do we have to get off'? The FA's explained, but it still wasn't good enough. Oh, and did I also mention that she blocked the aisle while looking for her tickets to try and prove the FA's wrong? Get out of the way!! Gotta plane to deboard here!! Lemme just say that it wouldn't have hurt that family to walk up the jetway. I'll just leave it at that. Sorry for the rant, it just seems like DAL lets way to many sloppy dressed non-revs in first class. It's embarrassing, and contributes to the continuing downslide of air travel. Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this. An issue I see is that once they get on an aircraft, they are free to do just about whatever they minus anything that would qualify as an inflight disturbance/security problem. The only real person they need to be nice to is the Gate Agent. Not sure if Cabin Crews have the ability to file a Buddy Pass Rider complaint for those specific Buddy Pass Riders who are particularly rude. We these passengers definitely Buddy Pass Riders??? Any chance they were $75 upgrade high rollers? |

A few examples of relaxed attire which are permitted in all classes of travel: * Shorts * T-shirts * Jeans * Flip Flops * Caps Here's some no no items: * Passenger that is (or appears to be) intoxicated * Passenger whose dress violates public decency laws and or community standards (examples include clothing that is sheer or inappropriately revealing or is designated as sleepwear, underwear, or swim attire) * Bare feet * Clothing that is excessively dirty, stained or torn * Clothing that is vulgar, offensive or suggestive |

That's amazing to find a 3 day trip worth 20 hrs on the A320. Most 4 day trips don't pay that. Alot of 3 day trips pay 10:30. Something to work on in 2012. |
Contract question...... I am sitting short call (have been for 2 days and going on 3 in a row). I have over 63 hours for the month so according to my schedule I am only good for another 19 hours or so, I also start golden days off on the 1st. Our shortest trip (except for a charter) is over 25 hours (turn to Asia), so how can they even use me?

FOXNews.com - Arizona Man, Stuck on Over-Heated Plane, Posts Video of Ordeal on YouTube Anyone have any inside scope as to what happened? "Unfortunately, the man has told the wrong story. I was on the very same flight. We went back to the gate because a passenger got sick, not because of DELTA. After the passenger got off, we left but had to go back because of a mechanical issue. The front door was open, people could get off, apparently he did not. I went and had lunch. Looks good on you tube though. The flight was delayed 3 hours, but I did not stay on the plane for 3 hours. Perhaps some common sense? If you see others GETTING OFF THE PLANE, you should too. Of course, its easier posting a video and crying. Sorry, even a good lawyer would lose this case." |
