Yeah I'm off through the 28th now and the IA I was called for was a 3 day 20 hour GS starting tomorrow and I wasn't about to fly into Christmas eve. The coverage in Memphis is horrendous throughout December and every day is below coverage in for January also.

I had to take a trip that flies into the 24th to get the 25th off so hopefully I can sneak out of the jetway without getting a RR on the 24th. I was looking at MEM for Jan and it looks like it will be fun. We already have 1 day that is negative, two that are zero, and a bunch of days that have only 1 reserve for Jan. I still haven't seen any GSWC trips go out, so they are in that bad a shape yet. :)
They seem to be getting a nice "save" with all of the European cancellations. It is allowing them to use those pilots when they otherwise would have had no one to cover trips. |

Nice job to the guy in MSP who snagged a 5-day out of base GS in DTW that lays over in MSP for Christmas. Home for Christmas and 29 hours pay...not bad.
Did it start out as a 29 hour trip? If so, it's 58 hours of pay. If not, it was originally a 14.5 hour 5 day now paying 29 hours.....not such a good deal. |

Also impossible under the contract. Has to be 29 for 5 days. 1 for 3.5 puts any 5 day above 26 hours. |

That's my point. So it is a 29 hour five day now paying 58 hours. Very nice. |

Good job FTB! When Moak takes over for Prater you need to photoshop him an infamous "alpa-stache." Unless of course he is required to grow one per the by-laws.

That statistic does not explain much. Some categories don't see many short calls because they are already assigned the day before they hit reserve. Short calls are mostly covered by White and Green slips.
PBS reserve really changed the game. It's brutal with up to 11 days of availability (carry in months). With regards to PBS, I like the flexibility of being able to string together long stretches of reserve. Being able to get six or seven days off in a row is nice if I am planning a getaway, of course I know I will have to work your butt off the rest of the month. |
