That's not unusual. I've seen plenty of FDAL pilots do the walkaround with their covers on. If it's cold or raining outside, I wear it. Now if it's warm and sunny, that's another story.

Serious question, though. If I'm sitting down in the terminal waiting for my commute flight or sitting down in the terminal eating, am I supposed to wear it?

No. Its generally okay to remove it unless your transiting the terminal, looking official doing the flight plan thing at the gate, etc. I haven't flown with any FDAL guys who wear it more than that...unless its raining/snowing during the walk around. Some guys will put it on to say 'buhbye' to the pax on the way out, some don't.

Some ATL guys may have a different spin. My jet only sees ATL from FL350. Everywhere else, this seems to work just fine.

However, Cap'n, nothing but nothing screams authority and command like a man wearing his hat to the lav to drop a deuce.

Priceless...

Weight Gain Bars

Hey how about those new weight gain bars we now have :)

Bet they don't last long.

They don't usually make it to "cabin ready for takeoff".

Don't think the FAA has any better clue on this than anyone else.

Don't forget, the FAA has to sell it's budget requirement still. If they are forecasting a decline in traffic, congress may just want to cut the budget for an increase in other spending.

I think we should try to get mesh hats in our next contract. The sky caps were able to do it, why can't we?

Because they have to walk sideways to get up the aisle. Not kidding.

Nothing is more annoying than sitting in an aisle seat getting a face full of butt which knocks your coffee over without an apology. On the Douglas jets they can't make the corner into the aft galley without swinging wide and knocking the passengers around. Worse, most wear uniforms the size they wanted to fit into, but it comes off like two greased piglets in tattered blue saran wrap. (Maybe you had to grow up on a farm.)

I guess the "good news" is that this is the latest and greatest about Delta, for now. I am not looking forward to the First Quarter numbers. But, or maybe I should say "BUTT" to remain in context, the third qtr should be nice.

You know how we have Atilla, fly around with less potable water and take other measures to save fuel, how about Weight Watchers for the whole flipping crew and Aerobics Equipment in the crew lounge? The F/A's eat the FC meals and the crew meals when they can, none of that stuff is really low cal if you know what I mean. Seriously, we could easily offset the weight of the winglets by removing the piglets.

I don't think I have ever literally laughed until I cried from reading this website until right now. Thank you.
