I flew a PVR turn today and told the Captain I don't even bother to go to the ALPA forum anymore. If you want to know what's going on inside Delta, stop by this thread. ACL, thanks for being a reliable source of information. Whoever you are, you certainly are a line pilot's friend. For a couple of years, your information has been accurate and reliable, and when it's speculation you say as much. Thanks!

The company is putting out some good information at the road shows and the "In Command" for the new Captains. Much of which has been promised not to be posted on the web. All I can say, is that I'm glad to be here, look forward to flying with the Delta North pilots and ready for good things to come. It's been a hard few years, but I think we all are at the right place at the right time.

Respectfully,
Tomcat

Interesting new "snafu" has just poped up in Asia, will be interesting to see how fast it is resolved.

We (northies) are using the south seat belt video with the redhead (I guess so the uniform matches) but there is a portion where she waggs her finger about no smoking...........which I guess is very rude in Japan. Big discussion at this point, at least at the worker bee level.

More to follow.

What's a TLV?

I'm sure my terminology will be off, but I think it's Target Line Value. Delta has an Average Line Value every month, & they have to meet the annual Target Line Value. Higher line values in the summer combined with lower line values in the winter can help meet the Average Line Value, or ALV. Hopefully a DAL South guy can verify or correct my info. :)

Good thing is that we had almost a 87% Load factor once again for this weekend. It this keeps up we are going to see AE's and not surpluses.
Keep thy fingers crossed bar.

The international out of NYC has picked up in the last month or so, from the flights I fly. In Jan/Feb flights were half full with almost empty BE cabin, but now coach is almost full with BE traffic picking up as well. As a very junior FO on the ER, I pay particular attention to the loads when I read the AWABS.

Yep. Loads will pick up either way, but they are better than the projections where. Lets just hope it continues.

Ferd....I recall when we started DC-10 service to Japan the F/As wore white carnations. The white carnations are worn in Japan at funerals:) As they say, the devils in the details

Ferd...Ferd...Ferd...

The "redhead" has a name, she's called "Deltalina". ;)

Fly more Hawaii's, and less Asia's, and I can help you keep up with these things.

That is, if you can help me remember to say "checkLIST"... and to get the lights at 18,000'.
