Oh I agree, I was just telling you the philosophy behind it.
I know how hard it is to unlearn something. Still have callouts and limitations over a decade old running though my head. |
For me the toughest thing is doing the items then "reading" the CHECKLIST. DL feels they are checklists not "to-do" lists.

Correct, and do not forget that your headset needs to be on from the start of the Before Start Checklist to the completion of the Shutdown Checklist. All for legal reasons of course.

Isn't that start of Before Start to 18K and from 18K down to Shutdown Checklist?

Interesting new "snafu" has just poped up in Asia, will be interesting to see how fast it is resolved.
We (northies) are using the south seat belt video with the redhead (I guess so the uniform matches) but there is a portion where she waggs her finger about no smoking...........which I guess is very rude in Japan. Big discussion at this point, at least at the worker bee level. More to follow. Ferd http://www.phenix.bnl.gov/flags/jp-flag1.gif |

I'm glad that you brought up the subject of headsets. Who's will survive? The DL David Clark "half-clamp" is a killer. At least the NW Telex headsets are MUCH lighter and aren't Sky King's leftovers.;) |
I agree, most do not wear them. I personally use a Telex.

I normally see that they are still on somewhere around FL 220. (I don't know why)

That and I was sitting at the pool with a bunch of SFO FAs, trying to explain why they were getting so many bell dings. They didn't seem to know the green light was going away, so they are snowed under with memos too I guess.

LOL, On my last 4 day, I dinged the FA's .....120 times!! And not to be a purist, but can the "Climb Checklist" really be a list if it only has one item? By definition a list is more than one.... 8 |
