Before I mastered the art, mine fell off, got wedged under the rollerboard, and was drug down VA Ave about 100 yards before I realized I had lost the precious piece of equipment.

Gawd, you guys are funny! I thought it was just the FNWA pilots that got all wrapped up in hat wearing. Just wear the thing...gotta be easier than wedging it in the handle just right.....leaving it behind....dragging it down the street. And yes as a disclaimer, I always wore my NWA hat. Just thought it was part of the uniform...no big deal:cool:

Because they have to walk sideways to get up the aisle. Not kidding.

Nothing is more annoying than sitting in an aisle seat getting a face full of butt which knocks your coffee over without an apology. On the Douglas jets they can't make the corner into the aft galley without swinging wide and knocking the passengers around. Worse, most wear uniforms the size they wanted to fit into, but it comes off like two greased piglets in tattered blue saran wrap. (Maybe you had to grow up on a farm.)

I guess the "good news" is that this is the latest and greatest about Delta, for now. I am not looking forward to the First Quarter numbers. But, or maybe I should say "BUTT" to remain in context, the third qtr should be nice.

You know how we have Atilla, fly around with less potable water and take other measures to save fuel, how about Weight Watchers for the whole flipping crew and Aerobics Equipment in the crew lounge? The F/A's eat the FC meals and the crew meals when they can, none of that stuff is really low cal if you know what I mean. Seriously, we could easily offset the weight of the winglets by removing the piglets.

I thought those FAs were called "CD Flight Attendants". Because their butts hit C then D as they walked the aisle.

Speaking of FA uniforms......

I'm out doing the 757 asia gig this month..........I can tell you FOOOSUREE that the Japanese girls look fantastic in the red dress.

Question:

Can the DAL-MEC send an email (Code-a-phone) to the members WITHOUT having to revise it each week? Seriously, have they not heard of proof reading and sharing it in the office before sending?

:(

I was in ATL and the rumor today was that the CPO said that DAL will indeed be over staffed come this fall. However, management doesn't want to furlough because they think furloughing at this point would be too costly considering they feel the economy will come back before the timeframe of a profitable furlough.

ACL??? Hearing the same?

Yep, we are projected to be over staffed by 150-230 this fall. With all of the inefficient parings that we will be running the next two years the over staffing will be eaten up. Add to that, that for summer 2010 we are looking at a understaffed situation. There is a strong possibility that if we keep seeing strong bookings we will be looking at FNG's next year, and the early part of next year at that. (it is just a possibility now, nothing strong)

They will not take furloughs off the table ever, but it would be very inefficient to do any. With bigger fish to fly, it is not a priority.

Also that is old news, plan C is being worked up.
News shortly.....
Also AE this summer might not displace as many as they originally planned. They are looking at the cost benefit to doing displacements for a few months.

Probably why the MD88B guys are still getting worked so hard. They can drop the ALV waaay down in the fall in order to absorb some of the overstaffing.

Displace more? I thought the AE was to staff 2 777's and that would require some back fill & potential reinstatement. Figure that's 40 or 50 new slots at the top.

If so, how are they going to comply with the ALV on the Douglas?

All I know for sure is UPS dropped about 20lbs of books by the front door. I'd like to just send them back.

The cut in flying is on the big jets. There is no planned cut in flying on the 88. That said, they need to make sure the TLV is within limits. It would be nice to hire to deal with this issue, but I do not see that happening. Not this fall.

FWIW they have not made up their minds on this yet. It is just talk. SD stated that they want to displace as little as possible, but as stated this was before plan C. We are seeing great numbers, the question that they are trying to grapple with is, is it short term or just bumping along the bottom.
Good thing is that we had almost a 87% Load factor once again for this weekend. It this keeps up we are going to see AE's and not surpluses.
Keep thy fingers crossed bar.

87% Load Factor! Nice! Contributing to what is hopefully a PROFITABLE 2nd QTR. :)
