Seattle-based Alaska Air Group Thursday reported a record profit for the fifth quarter in a row. “I am pleased to report our fifth consecutive record quarterly adjusted profit, in spite of a nearly 50 percent rise in our economic fuel costs,” Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Bill Ayer said in a news release. you gave me an idea, maybe Boeing can make it a 72RE and put 2 GTFs on the tail...then they could actually put the 81" fan on it and not that itty-bitty 70" LEAP-X one with a flat spot and the low-rider look! :D

I agree with your statement, my only point is, if we allow them latitude on the PWA, they will take it, and over time that latitude can become practice. They are over worked, understaffed, and working on a vertical learning curve up there. Unless someone tells them the correct way, they will learn the wrong way, and then never know how to actually perform the job as described.
I too will acknowledge a assignment prior to my window, but only if it works to my favor, I have seen many trips removed and I get reassigned something else, so sometimes it pays to be patient. I let the F/O rep know everything that transpired so hopefully this can get highlighted! |

FTB, I've heard about 600 per year max.
Can we do the sim by CD? http://content.answcdn.com/main/cont...25334p3olt.jpg If they don't put any restrictions on it we can go around administering V1 cuts on each other: http://image.gamespotcdn.net/gamespo...0screen001.jpg sigh. I think only Spacklair would allow us to have this much fun. |
DAL's going to have to give more incentives to high seniority pilots to retire early & smooth out the training curve. In 2017 & later we'll have >800 pilots/year retiring, exceeding current training capacity.

Exactly what my wife asked "What are they understaffed?"

I fail to see any immaturity in my post. I was simply stating that you guys waste more than just SWA's time. You've wasted some of mine too, so I'm quite familiar with the topic. I saw plenty of immaturity in yours, since you were so proud you made SWA slow down, and waste time and gas. Again, kudos; you really showed them.
If you don't want to taxi fast, that's fine, but be courteous to those behind you with a schedule to keep, or who are late, or don't want to ride the brakes all the way to the runway. No one rides their brakes to the end of the runway. The only time the Captain will ride the breaks is on a cross-bleed start of the second engine and that is for about 40 seconds. You are more than welcome to ask to taxi around all of the Deltoids in ATL, lets see how far that gets you. I know the LGA controller just laugh about that request. |
