IMHO - Delta's award of our "permitted" flying should be condemned :( Comair, is Delta & Comair is ALPA. Delta is reducing the value of its own subsidiary with this stupid award of flying to an incompetent air carrier. Ever ridden on GoJet? "High quality" indeed.. |

I know there are some hard feelings between some DAL pilots and Comair, but I dont understand the outsourcing of aircraft DAL owns when they have a regional they own too.
Is it just is another day in bizzarro superman world? Does DALPA have some quid pro quo deal with mgmt whereby Comair is no longer viable by agreement...you know it is the last bastion of unity and scope recapture...right? |

Ever ridden on GoJet? "High quality" indeed.. :p I had two TWA friends go work there before being recalled by AA. They say that they will not allow their family to fly on GoJet because of the general lack of proper maintenance, the poor quality of many (not all) of the pilots they hired. Their maintenance has been fined several times, and their pilots had a rash of violations. The only reason that the FAA has not yanked the TSA and GoJet ops cert, is that they are the only two 121 carriers left in the St Louis FSDO. Thus they would be putting themselves out of work. |

Whether Comair is wholly owned or not, look at the difference in pay scales between the two and the seniority of the pilot groups and you'll have your answer.
Still, this decision deserves comment from ALPA. So as an ALPA member, I'll make it. We regret hearing that pilots who worked to undermine an ALPA collective bargaining agreement have been rewarded with growth, job security and pay increases. Know that your only qualification for your job was that you were cheaper. As soon as the day comes that your management can replace you with a cheaper alternative than you, they will do so. To our management, know that we watch your actions and realize that you have undermined the value of our Company in the interest of short term cash flow. Such action breaks trust with your employees who view our work here as a long term career. We have helped you when asked. Don't take us for granted. We prefer you not simply see us when we are lined up outside your headquarters building and in front of your terminals full of parked airplanes. To our ALPA brothers & sisters, we know this growth came at your expense. Families uprooted and moved by displacements, pilots demoted and furloughed. You are not forgotten. Sincerely, BB - member in good standing |

Who's planes will they be flying? That just proves without a shadow of a doubt that improving the product isn't a priority for Delta Air Lines. More RJ's = FAIL

Hey Bar,
Just a quick question. Would the fact that we're S3C on these guys (plus no S2) enter into this decision vs Comair? A cut in travel benefits is a cut in our total compensation package. Ferd |
