Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

I'm going be Devil's advocate for a bit....
While I agree with the last few pages of posts, I still think that maybe Dalpa is doing what we asked them to do. As far as council 44 goes, our communication has increased dramatically. Like it or not, they are communicating. We asked for it.
In regards to the lack of info right now....we asked for it. We wanted our union to listen to us. The responded by giving us a contract survey. We can fight about how poor the survey is but at least we have one. The union has kept fairly quiet while we do our survey. Again, we asked them to listen to us. Lets fill out our survey's and provide the input to our union. They are doing exactly what we asked of them.
Don't over think this. If you just look at what we asked them to do on these two issues they are complying with our requests.
Now on to the MCO comment.....
With all the crap that T.O. has gotten from us maybe he thought he was amongst a sympathetic crowd of fellow pilots. We've all been beaten down for 10 years...(except us newbies). He is in a position where 12000+ pilots are venting and he has to listen. Its hard enough to listen to my darn wife let alone 12000 venting pilots!!!!!
Don't call me an apologist. I'm not. I'm just trying to see this junk from every angle. I'd still like to figure out how to sneak into the 4th floor of the training building. I know those new-hires girls need extra special training!!!

I have no issue with being in receive mode, I do have an issue with someone stating they did not want the job they are in as we approach section 6.

We frequently see guys on this board decrying career ALPA politicians. Now we have an MEC chairman who would rather be on the line, but sees work that needs to be done by "someone", and actually steps up to the plate to do it.
After reading this board and the ALPA boards, who would actually be eager to take the job? After most of our past contracts have been signed, we've tended to vilify the MEC chairman at the time. I'm sure this one will be no different. Who would choose that over just flying to Europe once a week?
Wouldn't it just be easier to sit at the computer and complain about the MEC's direction or the pace of negotiations?
My hat's off to Tim for taking on the responsibility.

anyone else having icrew just sit there lagging for each refresh then dropping you off? I've had to log in 20 times and never get to actually view my schedule... all my other internet stuff working fine, so it's just icrew and the DeltaNet.

It's a thankless job, no doubt, and frankly I've always wondered why anyone would want to do it, but once you have accepted the job, why would you walk into a contract road show and say, "I really don't want to be here..."

I just clicked on it and it went right to the chart. Next to the 9,700/ month euro figure, it says it was last updated in August of 2011.

Top FO rates are about about 7,200 euros ($120,000/yr.)
I'm not 100% if base and top FO is the same as junior and senior, so correct me if I'm wrong here.
It also says that these figures are after tax, so our real dollar amount would need to be even higher to achieve the same compensation.
I can see that it is not exactly an apples to oranges comparison given that cost of living and tax obligations are much higher, but even with taking that into consideration it appears that we are grossly underpaid in comparison to our European counterparts.

Is 9700 Euro/month the monthly take-home pay for an A380 captain? That doesn't seem like very much. I would hope we don't rely too much on the AF/KLM numbers.
