No they are not! They are stealing from the pilot group with all their full-time flight pay loss!
They are the 1.95% Occupy 100 Hartsfied Centre Parkway Suite 800!!!!!!! Power to the 98.05%!!!!!!!!! The NC is certainly earning their keep. Thank them next time you get to go home with full pay when a trip is dropped due to OE, or when you deviate PS from a DH on the front end of a trip, or . . . . I could go on for awhile, but I'm sure you were making a joke there |

When I read that letter, I also noticed this section. I think Mgmt is taking a wait and see approach to other carriers and upcoming developments. Hiring is unavoidable, but the hiring could take the form of a merger.
I don't know anything, just how I read it with a slightly pessemistic slant. Does seem like we may be right-sizing ourselves for some type of consolidation. Now what's the over/under on ALK? Or HA? |

At this point, i'd rather just see a merger happen and have it over with already. It'd be better than seeing all our flying being given away to our code share partners while we experience "modest" cutbacks.
Does seem like we may be right-sizing ourselves for some type of consolidation. Now what's the over/under on ALK? Or HA? IMO, the chess pieces are: AA, LCC, HA, and AK. There are also too many additional moving pieces (companies) to list with if this happens, then that happens outcomes. Most of the permutations have been discussed. AA can't buy AK. We'll see what happens with the AA contract / BK issue. Personally, I'd rather see us hire and buy planes. I would like to move upward in this lifetime.:( I'm also interested in seeing what happens with Frontier. I wonder if there is a market for that company anymore. I wonder if we have any folks that have left to go to HA or planning to try to go to AK. It would be interesting to see what the best decision for a junior pilot is, stay or go whenever the dust settles. Holy cow is anyone beside T watching TN Vandy. Is this the first game of the year for Vandy when they haven't disappointed. Yeah I know, they still have time to disappoint.:D |
Clempson!!! frowny face. BC bowl? Is that like the southern version of the children's tylenol bowl.

You may be right. It would be unsettling to have our livelihoods at the mercy of unskilled labor.

But are you sitting reserve in PA for LGA/JFK though?
Or how about this - how about we add a stipend for NYC based RESERVE crews, no? I don't think that's unfair. Because where should a NYC pilot sit SC reserve? Should they be near JFK/LGA where a vast majority of their flights will originate and end or EWR? Because if they have cover both then if you sit at one and have to travel to the other it will be time consuming and expensive to cross the verrazanno bridge. I mean let's be honest, the city is the best place for them to sit reserve but if it's too expensive for Delta it's too expensive for those employed by Delta. So there, option C: A stipend for NYC reserve pilots. $1000/mo? You want to be NYC centric, then pay up, damn place is too expensive to be treated as if it costs the same as mecca. Or even a reimbursement for flights originating out of EWR that goes over guarantee. Say $200 each trip BTW, when it comes to hotels I do know that for some management employees at DAL they can have work in the city for several days but the company will not pay for a hotel inside the city. DALPA may. :D Not the company though. I'm sure they want to cut that bill and that sucks because I love NYC long overnights. But, what about LAX/SNA/ONT based crews? Do they get in on the action? :) |

Who do you think the HVC's remember when the leave the jet? Probably the unskilled labor, FAs, baggage smashers, gate agents. Thats who brings them back.

Disagree. Atl and Dtw hold that honor.

In that case, based on my last trip through MSP, we're screwed. Worst rampers in the system, period. If the company were really concerned about the HVCs' perception "unskilled labor" they'd wipe the slate clean and start fresh up there. Absolutely unsat.
