First, I have to second all cni's posts, good summary of middle-east relations.

Second, here's a new topic which should see a lot more airtime, now that I think about it: Layover Bars!
My vote for the night, having just stumbled back from there:
Khyber Pass, PHL historic district downtown. 2nd and Chestnut/Market. 40 beers on tap or menu, including two cask-conditioned ales (Wytchwood Hobgoblin Brown Ale, very authentic). They gave me a free beer because I was talking it up... reminded me of living in Suffolk England. Best barbecued brisket I've had in 10 years, and I visited every barbecue place in TX flying tweets...

90 % of my layovers seem to be DTW, JFK, PHL, IAD, or SFO. I need a good recommendation for JFK bar near Roosevelt, SFO bar/food besides Elephant and Castle, and any thoughts on the Livonia DTW layover. Let's talk beer and food.

There are more than that leaving under the early out. They will not be short, but 1,000 overstaffed is just crazy talk. And no, no one is talking furlough.

Read my later post on the subject. We are that overstaffed with the 20% pulldown from the summer flying.(Read now not summer to summer) I know you know that. I also agree no furloughs. Not even close. They are entertaining requests for leave, but not wildly giving them. Only a year-year and a half max. After that point they want everyone back.

That's a much nicer post. No offense acl65. :D

Read my second post two pages back. Should have been clearer that I was referring to current overages, not summer to summer.

A 20% pulldown of summer flying to now using Alfa's numbers is in fact a little more than 1000 pilots fat this winder.

I know we are fat when I have only flow three days this month.

You go to LCP meetings, I'm not impressed.

Can you repost the rumor or tell me the post #, I'd like to view it myself.

That's what I figured you meant. Thanks for clarifying. :)

If you're into wine then the Dell'uva Wine Bar is an awesome spot 565 Green St only .6 miles from the hotel in SF. Tony Nik's Cafe 1534 Stockton St, great place for Martini's. Figaro's on Columbus for Italian food. The Saloon 1232 Grant Ave is the oldest bar in SF.

I'm not offended, but I don't give it any credit, and I couldn't care less whether you are impressed or not.

In SFO try Kells Irish Restaurant & Pub - Portland, Seattle & San Francisco
Not sure about food but they pour a mean Guinness and at least on the weekend evenings its wall to wall hot chicks. A reasonable walk to/from the hotel too.

If you want to cab it to the Mission, try Latin American Club - Mission - San Francisco, CA best and strongest margaritas on earth. Period. Don't get cocky. Seriously. Then a few blocks walk to a local taco dive that is out of this world. Again, usually wall to wall hot chicks but if for some reason its an off night, the whole area is packed with cool places.

For food you can't go wrong with Tommy's or Mel's, both were right by the old hotel though.
