Sometimes, the free beer is cold enough. If Southwest pilots still have to carry their Jepps, I'm sure it doesn't register to them that they should be envious of us because we have ship sets. For sure, I've never heard them complain about having to use that weight and balance briefcase thing. All they do is complain about how big their watches are. :D |
I don't even own a watch. I haven't flown with one since 2003.
I'd just like not to have to buy cheap Chinese food at the airport, I'd like to make enough money to go to those over priced healthy looking places. |

Rumors I've heard are actually to expect quite a bit of continued shrinkage in ATL - 777 time to leave completely. Apparently, RA was not pleased with the way ATL handled the last airport contract and doesn't want to have his eggs in one basket in the future. Winning bases will be NYC, DTW, LAX and SEA. There was an additional base mentioned that we dont have now...5 year plan... Hmmm.

Most bids are out. Even if the square is blank, still click on it and most come up. Some ATL are not out, and NYC ER too.

The 2-3% yoy decrease was just a reaffermation of a previous announcement. Right...

ALL "A" bids except for LAX 73N. Carmen still has trouble figuring out what to do with all the "DAL" flights that are operated by "ALK." Scoop  |

Occupy, What exactly are you upset about here?
So when some guy in 15C has more actionable, real-time weather information than I do, and Bubba the Dispatcher can't be bothered to look up from his 1980s NASCAR reruns to answer my request for weather info, it's a bit ridiculous. We've had the capabillity to get real-time data up front for a couple of years, but we're still lagging. I'd just like to see Mama D put its money where its mouth is and get out in front on something...anything. As far as I can tell, I'm not sure how Delta is in any position to lure top-quality pilots in the next boom with a complete inability to lead the industry. |

I doubt very much whether we'll get the Ipad. It's a nice platform, but there are other platforms that can do much more in terms of airline ops, and when the infrastructure is in place (internet pipeline on all DL aircraft, integrated with some of the aircraft systems), we'll probably see it in the cockpit. I heard recently that the McRib is costing us more than a total revision solution, so expect that to go away soon. At that point, having a V-file is really pretty redundant.
The investor conference today mentioned that DL expects to conclude the pilot negotiations by the end of 2012. I have said it here before, they don't want any loose ends going forward and I expect an early opener from the Company in the near future. Hopefully it is representative of the tens of thousands of pages of "suggestions" we've seen here. |
