If you commute to reserve, and you don't get called on your first short call, you might want to be able to stay in base and sit SC #2, and #3 without having to go home in between though....

The Captains at Delta are very easy to be FO's for & work with. As for walk arounds, did them during my eleven years in the left seat as well and for 25+ years of owning and maintaining my own airplanes. Like to see what I'm flying. Bad weather, maintenance and charter flights make me even more curious.

In general terms, it is likely that new hires are going to come on board with a different attitude about senior guys in general. While they didn't vote for us to lose our pensions, we did vote to outsource their jobs and upgrades.

Bar it is neither. It is a explanation of the facts this crowd has given me when I fly when them. It also echoes their reasons for staying. Not political either.

It is also a warning not to divide along this line or any.

So who's going to be in ATL tomorrow night?

Scoop, great post!

The Junior guys always think the senior guys got it made, the senior guys always think the Junior guys cry too much.

It has always been thus. Always has been, always will be!

So Everyone, just S-T-F-U and get to drinking!

It's St. Patty's Day for Christ's sake! Give it a rest for a day. We ALL got screwed in the Bankruptcy. All of us, so hand me another Guinness!

I'm on number 4 right now, and I only have 8 more in the fridge, it could get ugly if I run out before SNL!

Scoop, if you are in the NRT sports bar later next month, I'm buying.

Timbo,

Thanks for the offer but I am currently a 737B in LAX. Although to be honest I don't know how much longer I will in this category - the trips absolutely bite!

If I do bid over the the 7ER I will take you up on your offer. :)

You and me both bro. I don't know how many more red eyes to Columbus, Raleigh and Orlando I can take......

I did, however, cheat death and recurrent once again. Take that SFO!

Oh, BTW, you could tell it was St Patty's weekend in the training dept. All LA guys. It was a frikkin reunion. Guess ATL guys don't want to work weekends. ;)

I don't own one but that's a good price if you qualify.

S&W has 5R rifling which I think is a plus.

The sports draw backs are:
No chrome lined barrel
No forward assist
No dus cover

It is a great entry level AR but look at the M&P 15T also. You get the thing missing from the sport (except a chrome lined barrel) plus a full rail and fold up front and rear sights.

Good luck with your purchase.

As luck would have it, I was able to snag a LAX turn on a blind white slip, so I'll be laying over in LAX the night of the 21st. (this Weds). If you are going to be around I'll buy then, drop me a PM for details. That is of course if you're a local vs. commuter, or not out on a trip.

Bring the wife and kids...they can use the hot tub in The Captain's Suite...while we discuss the finer points of staying high and hot until you have to put it down or go around! :D

You too Buzz, come on over if you are going to be in town.

Thanks Timbo. I'd love to but it's my kids spring break and we're heading to NorCal for some R&R. Next time, it's on me. Anytime you can snag LA, let me know. I'm about 45 mins from the crew hotel on a good day. 'Course, it can be 2 hours in this abortion we call traffic. Still, let me know. Love to swap some lies.
