BTW, it was a pleasure to be in your jumpseat to watch you grab that DC-9 by the throat and set her down in ATL. :D

A few things that some of you might not know about DAL 88 Driver:

He has inside jokes...with complete strangers
Mosquitos refuse to bite him...purely out of respect
The IRS puts a little extra in his refund checks...just to be sure

Carl

Likewise, it was a real treat to get to visit with you on our short flight in "the light twin!" :D

I've gone. Basically, it's the show without the announcer. Have fun, and be sure to eat lunch in the Subic Bay O-Club at the museum. I have a lot of buddies with names on those placques.

If true, the Reps have not been briefed. Just contacted a rep, and they know nothing.

I've read the NNP. I have listened to what my fellow APC and DALPA types have to say about what has been presented to date.

My opinion: I am seriously underwhelmed. I don't see a lot in the current NNP that gets me excited. I am getting the nagging impression that the NNP is a concessionary document. But, I will try keep an open mind about the final product. Maybe I am missing a big peice of the big picture.

I'm going to send my opinion to my my reps about what has been presented to us. I'll do my part. I want to urge everyone to contact their reps with their opinions. Now is not the time to lurk.

On the bright side, I really like what I am seeing and hearing from both chat boards, DALPA and APC. This NNP is being turned inside out and upside down. There isn't going to be a lot that gets past this group. Keep this up.

Gloopy, Timbo and yes, even T-Square, I like what I am hearing from you. Don't stop.

What's sad is that I have been to the Cubi O'Club 100+ times and can't remember what it looks like. Those were the good ole days.

No TA has been reached as of 10 minutes ago.

Another another note information was posted on here about disability and sick leave in the current contract verses the next contract that was completely wrong. If anyone is considering or might be going out on disability call DALPA and make sure you understand the program and choices. Don't use any info from here it could cost you a large amount of money. The new program offers some huge advantages if you might be considering elective surgery and can put it off.

Maybe not. A lot of guys trying to give ALPA the benefit of the doubt with what we've seen so far (Neg. Notepad). But when the actual TA comes out, it will be vetted here and on the DALPA Forum like never before. If the pay and scope sections are stinkers (i.e. don't make significant progress toward restoration of pay and reversal of outsourcing), that, along with what we've seen so far is going to raise a lot of eyebrows and may open enough eyes to see a different outcome from years past. Sure, there will always be the committed ALPA loyalist lemming types... but I think there are many of us (hopefully the majority) that look at it from a practical business standpoint. We know what we've put into this career... the sacrifices we and our families have made along the way. We know the very significant responsibility we have on a daily basis and we are painfully aware of the career risks (medical, etc.) to which we are always exposed. A 42% lower standard of living than what we had 10 years ago and a huge percentage of Delta passengers being flown by non-Delta pilots... well, I don't think that is something that many of us will accept anymore. (Some of us never accepted it.) It's time to put our collective feet down and make a stand.

Thanks. Me too.

So, T... what did you think of the post? :D (other than liking the reference to a drum solo, which I'm guessing you misunderstood)

I got it, but for the reserve changes to be staffing neutral I would expect a 6 hr ADC, Reserve Rotation guarantee once assigned a trip, and possible a 3:1 on the trip rig. Those nuggets would make this staffing positive, but still take away a lot of the potential for GS.

Because of these changes and the taking away for a lot of GS, I wonder if there is going to be a time and a half over 80/85 in this. There has got to be a quid for that.

That said, I will try to refrain from projecting too much, just trying to make the math add up to positive gain. The side that we have seen could be a way to construct more pay per pilot without the appearance of such.

That's the info I have as well. Just trying to squash a rumor. With it not being true, I think someone must have gotten what the CP said wrong. He does not give out false rumors.

Very true. I missed that discussion.

I have had a few ppl call me and ask about it. My simple response is call Kevin or Karen and they will point you in the right direction and give you all of the information needed to make the correct decision. They are "Super-Premium" experts on this stuff. :D
