Council 44 meeting at 10am tomorrow. Different hotel than the last few. Will there be an APC mini convention? Who will be sportin' a reserve md88b beard? Will the tall guy be there? Will ACL still smell like mulch? He will be the one with dirty fingernails at the fruit tray!

Ask the hard questions guys!

Thanks for clarifying this. I favor contract repair, and this on the surface seems like the opposite of that.

You managed to quote me while I was editing my post. I didn't mean to say that "vacation any" is definitely a bad thing. It will allow some guys to end up with a line when they would have been bumped to reserve if they had to take their vacation as awarded. It also might make room for an extra trip to increase the dollars in a vacation month. That can be good both for the individual pilot and for the company...he gets a schedule vs reserve, or just a better schedule, and the company has one less reserve guy collecting gaurantee. However, the overall effect is that the trips get covered by less guys, which is why I say it borders on selling vacation.

I emailed my reps this morning. They have all contacted me. Exemplary. If only my impression of the Negotiators' Notepad was the same.

For all of you that think that the time spent on this board is wasted please know that I was inspired to write my reps as a result of rethinking that last Negotiators Notepad. I'm thankful there are a lot of smart people on here (the annoying ones are on ignore) that give me great information and useful perspective on our company. Thanks to all of you.

Look into the "vacation any" option from the nnp. Basically it means if you have vacation in a month, you give them the option to build you a normal schedule and then fill-in the vacation days on whatever off-days you have left over. I know it was popular on the north side, but it seems to border on selling vacation to me.

Please explain how it's like selling vacation. You still get the vacation credit, thus limiting how much flying you can bid in PBS. It would help you avoid the ridiculous situation where a senior pilot (especially on international wide body categories) is unblockable due to vacation that he cannot move. The pilot is essentially penalized for having vacation. We need to fix that, and this would do it.

There should be a secret way to inquire about this addiction - flashing two fingers down (in the shape of an "A"), or "The Sting's" nose swipe, etc

Should not consider lanyards or APC head buffs.
