From another website, some guy has gone through the newly loaded spring schedule to find the new LGA destinations from the slot swap ( a lot of former USairways stuff). I'm sure everyone notices the same thing that I do about the list:

LGA-DFW 6x E70 (S5)
LGA-MIA 4x M88
LGA-BTV 3x (2x OH CR7, 1x ERJ)
LGA-ROC 4x CR7 (OH)
LGA-BUF 6x CR9 (OH)
LGA-SYR 5x (4x ERJ, 1x CR7)
LGA-RIC 5x (4x ERJ, 1x CRJ)
LGA-MHT 2x ERJ
LGA-SDF 1x ERJ
LGA-GSO 3x ERJ
LGA-ORF 4x ERJ
LGA-DAY 2x ERJ
LGA-ROA 1x daily starting July 11, 2012
LGA-ILM 1 daily starting July 11, 2012

Vacation is a liability on any pilot that has vacation. If the company built non commutable 7 day trips worth 21 hours of credit we'd revolt but we accept that level of insanity for our vacation. 5 hours a day is the minimum non strike credit vacation must have, period. Wait, can you preface a dramatic "period" with a comma like that? Anyway 35 hours a week is the minimum vacation should credit.

Vacation pay/days question

Question from a very slow learner : Thanks to some shoulder surgery rehab, I was awarded 4 days PVAC for January.

1) reserve line

2) 16 Res days instead of 18

3) projected credit of 60:40

Lets see if I have this correct:

1) I only reduce R days by 2, for taking 4 vacation days...so 2 of the vacation days actually occur on "off" days

2) I lose 9:20 of pay for taking 2 real vacation days

Say it ain't so, Joe.....ACL, Slow, T, Carl etc.

Enjoyed flying with the Air West Guys. One Guy, that was based in HNL used to have a big Cinco de Mayo Party every year at his home. Good Times at the HNL base.

Looks like once again we're trying to take on JB's dominating upstate NY and BTV service with DCI. The last time that was tried out of JFK it didn't come close to working. On the bright side though our CASM with DCI is through the roof compared to JB so that should help, plus the trip cost is lower so when we get creamed we won't lose as much. That's Bi-Winning right there, that's what that is.

And hey, 4 MD88 flights! Too bad it wasn't 5, that way on the 5th day of DL-Xmas we could pause and sing together..."fiiiiiiive, main-line, flights....."

Nothing was mentioned about ROA or ILM though so I'm sure those are mainline and besides even if they're not, they will feed our LGA hub. Which isn't really a hub but more of an O&D focus city. So we won't get any passengers from these new RJ routes (the whole reason they were agreed to in the first place, you know, to grow mainline?) but at least the profits go to the mothership. After we pay their guaranteed profits. But at least we don't hold the leases and debt. Although we are legally responsibile for all their long term leases and associated debt, and we pay it all, plus additional premiums.

This isn't just using cheaper pilot labor, which is bad enough as it is. This is all that as well as flat out bypassing the mainline system entirely with our code, our paint, our pax, our everything except pilots and doing it all at a higher cost and fuel use per passenger in the first place. FTN.

IIRC, the #1 DTW 330 A is a former banana boat driver.

Is it SF? Thought he was a NC guy.

Yes... it might be that his wife was a Hughes girl. He was on the jumpseat and had some pictures of some of the banana jets.

SF is former Hughes AirWest.

I am certain about this. I've known him for 25+ years.

I think everything you said is accruate except for the pay. I believe the four days of vacation don't show up in your projected credit. But you will be paid for the vacation. This would be the same as someone who had a line for the month and was showing low credit hours for a month where they have two weeks of vacation--they would be showing some seriously low "projected credit". You're not actually "losing" pay in the end. Others, I'm sure have the correct terms and a better explanation, but that's my simple take of it.

The last I heard DFW was going to be four flights a day two E jets and two mainline. The list posted only shows one frequency each so this may just be the initial load on the initial slots. You guys do remember that this stuff is in two phases.
