The regional pilots got A View From The Top:

It's where they made fun of CLE E120 drivers working for a Texas based airlines with bases in New York, Cleveland and Texas.

Take your pick. A movie about a 16 year old who steals an F-16, a cinematography masterpiece about an F-14 driver saving the world and setting a benchmark on coolness in flight, a comedy where the pilots are taken out and a yahoo from the back lands the airplane and a horrible boring comedy.

I chose Airplane! I like Yahoos.

But Top Gun I guess would be second.

Iron Eagle is every bit as bad as Top Gun except that Top Gun had some good cinematography. Don't forget WarGames and Broken Arrow ... stupid stupid stupid.

In reference to the AirWest pilots, I saw a few of them last night, all retirees, at the last MEM pilot base Christmas party. I know of a few left out in the hinterlands. They were the "odd men out" in the Republic conglomeration. The Southern guys were definitely "Southern", and the North Central guys were "stoic MidWesterners", and the AirWest guys.......... I always said "highly suspicious of authority", in the most enlightening way, and there were a few Jeremiah Johnsons, some Robert Stack look alikes, and a Wayne Newton. The Southern guys lived in the shadow of Delta in Atlanta, the North Central liked life fine the way it was, and AirWest flipped the finger at all.

.

Dude. I hope you aren't talking about the guy who looked like Sean Connery "Hunt For Red October" style, M.C. He was my favorite and I hope he is ok. :(

You are right. Every Hughes guy I flew with was a good dude and I always looked forward to flying with those 105 numbers.

No, Danno B. Young guy too, think he was in his early 50s when he passed. Most of my good Saipan stories involve Danno.

Danno was more the surfer dude type vs Sean Connery.......cuz he was a surfer dude.

He is missed.........Ferd

and "Red Flag, the Ultimate Game" (made for TV movie). Several of the guys from my Langley Sq were extras in that movie when they were young capts in the Aggressor Sqs at Nellis. Had a big Friday night in the bar scene that was filmed early in the morning. They all talked about being wild drunk (free drinks from the movie production Co) and it wasn't even 10am:D

Ok. I don't think I knew him. M.C. Was/is just plain cool, suprisingly in the same way James Bond was. If he wasn't married to a flight attendant, he would have made a killing.

You are right though, the Hughes guys were a a
A+.

I think there is at least one who is still on the seniority list, but I think he is on LTS.

IIRC, the #1 DTW 330 A is a former banana boat driver.

I need to find a CRJ doing a fly by for my avatar.

Maybe hockey can identify it as an ERJ. :D

I'm not gonna be able to hear that song without thinking of this line for the rest of the month. Thanks for that :D
