I have to admit that from time to time I've seen, "What's training really like?" questions here. Hopefully it hasn't occured too recently. I just recieved my Christmas present from tech pubs via Fed Ex. Projected training Feb on the DC-9. 1.) Do we get any kind of study days on our schedule to complete the thumb drive or do we find our own time before we report to training? 2.) Should I spend any real time in the VOL II or should I only focus on the thumb drive?

Hey Mike,

Answer to question 1.) No study days. Days off, or long layovers to study = your own time. I'm studying right now. Yes. It sucks.

Answer to question 2.) I heard it's all about the Learning Objectives Document (LOD) for the Systems validation. I'm not sure what you have on your thumb drive.

Good luck! The DC-9 is a great airplane.

Wouldn't your example open a DFR case from the Delta pilots?

One would assume so, but if DALPA never asks for scope recapture then I guess you wouldn't have a case to pursue against National.

I think the real question is if DALPA doesn't pursue scope recapture, what was the reason? And if the reason isn't legit- is it wrong to assume influence from National? I guess we'll have to wait and see what the ope... TA is.

For the ESV:

LOD... LOD.... LOD... LOD!!!!!

I always found something that really gave me a quick step ahead was consolidating the flows as a studied the systems. Something about learning the flows ahead of time has always helped me learn the airplane. Sure that's unpaid extra studying regardless of what program you're on, but it has nuked any stress in every training program I've ever been through.

LOD it is! But, what's this stuff about flows? I thought I was supposed to just sit there, shut up and be looking fine.

I kid. I kid. Family Guy has corrupted me. :D

OK thanks. I'll start in on the LOD.

It is one thing to complain about schedules, or an MD, or ALPA pr what have you, but complaining about ones retirement position is asinine.

Chances are, this airline probably won't even exist in 2050.

So for crying out loud to anyone and everyone who wants to ***** about 2050- here, have some perspective from a family holding a little girl born today who may not live to see tomorrow:

the little green family

Rant over.

I believe those are known as trogdor burninatus.

In the second METAR, those would be designated as "+TB."
