Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Where did it say that dead heading now counts towards 30/7? I hope that is true and that we can also do 9 hour day turns like JFK-PAP-JFK. I would rather fly both legs than deadhead in the back on one of them.
It states that DHing counts as duty, I did not see anywhere that it counts towards flight time.

DH'ing has -always- couted towards duty...so, Where's the beef?
What we need is for DH'ing to count towards our Frequent Flyer Reward Miles...oh, and Free Drinks while DH'ing, even in coach!!

Half as many pilots will get that trip in the first place if that was the case. One pilot deadheading is far superior. Deadheadig sucks, but its still block hours and staffing.
(Eyes rolled because I still don't believe these will go real senior.. I hope I am wrong)

Every commuter pretty much always has well over 10 hours of rest and 8 hours of sleep opportunity before a trip. The issue here is will that 10/8 hours have to reset the instant a pilot touches an airplane? A car? This is unenforceable and they know it, so its just there as a backstop blame all much in the way the "sterile cockpit" is used as a backstop blame all.
How is driving any different? A pilot that lives 5 minutes away from the employee lot just broke his rest the same as a "NY local" that drives 2-4 hours in traffic. This could end up being a huge can of worms but if it is, it will be a mess for everyone not just those that commute by air.

Well there go all the Caribbean layovers. Most of Europe can now be done 2 man for the way TO Europe, but not the way back. How do these rules compare to ICAO rules? Are we now going to be more or less expensive than AF/KLM, Italia, VAtlantic, etc? Now that the bar has been reset when we go to negotiations do we negotiate off what we had which was based on the old rules, or new stuff based on these rules? I am sure the schedulers will use the two years to develop schedules that will take advantage of this. I see a lot more 1 day trips. Maybe that will be nice. 4 days 36 hrs home ever night.
