Wow. Makes iCrew and our method look like something the dinosaurs thought up and cavemen implemented.

The pictures cavemen painted were more complex than the ones on icrew.

Hey guys I have a question for you. I was assigned a rotation with the first leg is a dead head on Comair they have my checkin 1.5 hours prior to the flight, I called crew scheduling and they said it is always 1.5 hours for off line dead head. Tried to get him to change it and he wouldn't. I don't want to sit around in the airport all day waiting, any way around this?

Only way around it is to deviate. Offline DH's are always a 90 minute check in.

I had the same thing... I just called them and told them I was going to be there about an hour or 45 minutes prior. They didn't mind.

The scheduler is correct. 90 miutes is contractual. (23.A.33.a.3)
He can't change it.

What you can do is just call them a half hour or so before scheduled report and tell them you are enroute and will be there 30 minutes late. They don't really care as long as you call and keep their alarms from going off. Just be sure you make it in time to get your boarding pass and make pushback. Not a problem with a Comair flight but you might need that 90 minutes for some off-line deadheads on some non-Delta outfit. That's why its in the contract that way.

Best available on such short notice.

How does the video end? Or do I just read between the lines?

I can't show you, or even describe it, and remain within the confines of PG-13. But man, it's wacky, weird stuff.

You realize there are two components to what you're talking about, right? One is the interface (ours sucks, no doubt about it). The other is workrules. Most of what you describe above, IMO is bad for pilots in the aggregate.

Reserves going in to pick up? What a great idea!

Unless you're a lineholder trying to WS...

the point is its only open for reserves during the pick up window which is just before the schedulers are going to assign the following days assignments. line holders would be able to before that, this just gives reserves a chance to manage things before the schedulers did it. the pick up window was only from like 8-9am and only good to pick up stuff for the following day no further.
