The difference being they never settled nor caved in on scope. The BK is not a result of their failure to negotiate, that's ALPA rhetoric.

They might not be on a bankruptcy contract, but they took significant voluntary pay cuts. They didn't shoot for the moon. They tried to get back what they gave up voluntarily. The lesson here is never give anything up voluntarily. Everything they gave up, management just took as bonuses. Their pay cuts never went back into the airline as intended.

ALPA rhetoric, Show me the statement from ALPA saying anything close to what you just printed.

Reserve question

If I get awarded a 5-day YS that takes me into two X-days, do I get any credit on top of guarantee? Or would I be giving up two days off? Are any days earned for future payback?

Thanks in advance,
Cubdrick

Any flying on X days is towards guarantee, but that's it. No premium pay, no days off back.

It's my understanding that you must specify via PCS that you will fly on X-days--a YS request by itself will not award you a trip on X-days.

If you volunteer to fly on X-days, it's out of your hide. You get credit for the whole trip towards your guarantee and RAW score--but nothing above the guarantee and no payback X-days (those come with green slips). Not much there for you...

I can't remember all the specifics, but it was nice and I did all the time. If it was within 12 hours they would call the reserve guy and if he didn't want to do the trip, they pulled it from them and it was all yours. I think outside of 12 hours it was yours regardless of what the resreve guy wanted.

There are lots of ways we can continue to improve the reserve system here that will benefit lineholders as well. I'm actually very impressed with the improvements so far, although they may not be perfect. The bucket system, credit for SC, and the entire reserve availability list are great things to get outside of section 6. Can't wait for the ability to higher your RAW score. I also think we could still allow drops and swaps up to 12 hours prior to report if reserve coverage is good. That would be nice.

Am I missing something with the new system? I see on the reserve availability list that some people have already completed a short call, but I don't really see "credit" for it. I mean, in theory, if they have done a short call and are junior to me, shouldn't the "credit" for their short call knock them below me in line to get called for a trip? (Raise their 'raw' score) If they have done 2 SC's and I have done 1 shouldn't I be next in line to get assigned a trip because they have more SC's than me...thus a higher raw???

Now i'm confused even more:o

You make me laugh. I didn't notice the price.

I'm not laughing at your plight though.
